Vintage California Crown Mint Bell/Trade Round BU

A #sublimesunday and #beautifulsunday to everyone!!!

Yesterday, I mentioned to @silverd510 that there may be other mints that have produced the iconic Liberty Bell (the vintage silver kind, that is). I can't recall if I had another one. So I went through my stack of vintage silver, and true enough, I found a third silver round! How could I miss this?

California Crown Mint was a Woodland Hills, California-based refiner of silver. Under that name, they operated from 1980 until 1983. They rebranded as Crown Mint at some point in 1984, and they carried on with production until 1991. Over the course of the business, they have used a variety of markings on their products. A crown appears on some of the bars, "CCM" is written on some, and "CM@[YY]" is written on others. [YY] represents the two-digit year. A few things have the cursive character "cm" on them. Source

This is an uncommon CCM silver round. I am guessing that this was manufactured in 1983 or earlier, given the fact that they were still going by their first trade name.

Reverse: The central feature on the reverse are balancing scales, a common motif found on many trade unit silver rounds. Sprigs of ivy flank the scales to either side. The inscription located at the top is "THE INTERNATIONAL" and it is matched by "SILVER TRADE UNIT" which is centered at the bottom. The content of "ONE TROY OUNCE" is inscribed below the top inscription and the purity of ".999 FINE" is inscribed immediately above the scales. The mint mark of "CCM" is located directly below the central image and directly below that is the weight of "31.1 GRAMS".

Obverse: The central image on the obverse is the liberty bell bell. Inscribed above the bell is the phrase "LET FREEDOM RING". The purity of ".999 FINE SILVER" is located below the bell. The mint mark of "CCM" is micro-printed to the left of the bell gong.

Let Freedom Ring

My country, 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty.
Of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died.
Land of the pilgrims' pride.
From every mountainside,
Let freedom ring.
