Introduction
New week new deep dive this week we have a look in divine shield.I noticed while writing this post not many monster have this ability 13 in total and i only got 2 of them 🤣
Ability
The first time an Unit is attacked and is hit the damage is ignored.
Note: If your opponent uses Blast, Return Fire, Thorns, Magic Reflect and Backfire can all take your divine shield down.
Note: When missed the divine shield is not removed.

Synergies / strategy
Abilties benefits
Poison - Still like my poison units this because your first hit is absorbed but when you land poison it still does some extra damage after the first round.
Resurrect - This ability helps divine shield. When your divine shield unit is killed first it is resurrected and gain another divine shield again.
Abilties to be aware off
Blast - when blast is used by you opponent it can take down your divine shield while your monster is not attacked.
Redemption - When you opponent uses this ability it can take down all your divine shields.
Thorns/Magic Reflect/Return Fire - all these ability can be helpful to take some divine shield down while you opponent is attacking.
Ruleset benefits
Born again - When the Born Again rule set is into play I like to select units with divine ability, this because when your unit is reborn it gains again an divine shield so a extra free attack absorbed.
Ruleset to be aware off
Explosive Weaponry - there is a higher change the divine shield is already taken down quickly by any attack.
Select / favorite
Here are ALL
my divine shield units 🤣
This week it was an easy pick. I almost never use Aves Sturgis. The Pelacor Conjurer i very often in my battle and highly versatile with the high health magic reflect/divine shield/flying and phase. This is often my first position when it hit with magic in the first attack the damage is absorbed and it still does some damage back.
Now i see them side to side I might also try this as an combo, with the weapon training ability of Aves Sturgis is might be nice combo.
Strategy
Keep your distance, so there is an higher change on an magic play by my opponent.
No buffs or debuffs by our summoners. that is a perfect match for the Pelacor Conjurer
Rulesets
Keep Your Distance:
No melee monster may be selected
Silenced Summoners:
Summoners will not buff or debuff the unit. Select you highest level summoner with the lowest mana cost for the splinter you want to play.
The Lineup
Summoner
Card | Reason |
---|---|
I want to play life and this is my lowest mana cost summoner |
Monsters Lineup
#1 | #2 | #3 | #4 | #5 | #6 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Pelacor Conjurer (lvl 8)
Star of this week and a unit I like very much already from the first league to gold diamond where i now play
Dax Paragon (lvl 5)
Important unit in this strategy because it has the amplify. Sometimes I use Grandmaster Rathe but in this battle the summoners effects are disabled.
Time Mage (lvl 6)
Slow my opponent so i may hit first
Venari Crystalsmith (lvl 6)
Also an important unit for this strategy keep my pelacor conjurer alive
Pelacor Arbalest (lvl 6)
This unit also very often in my lineup because of the double strike.
Prismologist (lvl 5)
It has some protection to withstand some punches in the back.

Rounds
Start :
This is exactly what I expected and wanted. I designed my team around the Pelacor Conjurer the first is is absorbed but it still does some magic reflect damage.
The only thing that you need to be aware of is when Obsidian buffs all units with +1 magic. This could end up killing my Pelacor Conjurer and snowballing quickly trough the rest.
Also the placing of his Mycelic Slipspawn is perfect for my Prismologist with blast. This battle might go fast.
Round 1:
This is looking strong he has done a lot of damage to its self. Just one more round this can be one of my faster victories.
Round 2:
Very quick round my opponent is killing itself is always fun to watch.
Conclusion
Just one of my favorite units in battle. Love to see the divine shield helping in this strategy.
I will share some more random battles with the Pelacor Conjurer
Some other battles
Here are some in one day :)
Here he helps with many misses and when killed because of the rebirth it gained another extra divine shield.
Another battle where the magic reflect is key.
In combination with the resurrect of Adelade Brightwing it gains another two magic reflect plays.
In this battle it is killed to quickly this is the risk where I was talking about.
lucky my other units where strong enough to finish eventually
Another battle where it is in for the misses.
in the end look at the blood lust also an great ability
