Feliz semana Santa 😉

What's up friends, how is your Holy Week going?
This Holy Thursday, my husband's family invited us to have lunch, I think it is already a custom to get together during Holy Week to have lunch at least on Holy Thursday or Good Friday.
I didn't think I would go since I've had a bad neck and I'm resting these days, I haven't been feeling very well, but here we go with all the desire in the world.
So we went to lunch, we are only six people, our family is small, my husband's family are from Trujillo and they have their custom, I think we all have some of the inheritance of the grandmothers so to speak and on these dates I have always heard that you should not eat meat, I do not know where they got that? But in my family it used to be the same, so the custom is to eat salted or dried fish.
In Maracay there are queues in the fishmongers and street vendors to buy it, of course at this time some abuse the cost, the truth is that my sister-in-law prepared dried fish crumbled, rice, beet salad, dad, carrot and egg that was delicious and a bread soup, this soup comes from Trujillo and they love it, especially at this time of the year.
She told me that in Trujillo on this date they usually eat 7 "potajes", that is to say that there should be 7 foods on the table, from soup, dry, to sweet and that is how they usually eat at Easter, of course she did not make the seven "potajes" but we talked about it, commenting how those tables were before.
We spent a nice time as a family remembering those teachings that our grandmothers and mothers left us, it was a great time, now it is our turn to teach our children a little of that history that are part of our legacies.
The food was excellent and accompanied by the family much more, I hope you have a great holy week and do not forget the most important thing of this time the sacrifice that God made for each of us. Happy Holy Week 😉
