Hay textos que nacen de la necesidad imperiosa de volcar en papel la angustia, la incertidumbre y el peso emocional de un momento. Este ensayo lo redacté en el año 2021, en medio de un clima de alta tensión social, escasez y encierro pandémico que afectaba la salud mental y la fe colectiva de todos los cubanos.
Hoy lo comparto en esta comunidad a modo de catarsis intelectual: un desahogo escrito en caliente que refleja el dolor, la preocupación y la búsqueda de esperanza ante una realidad compleja. Es el testimonio de lo que sentía y pensaba en medio de aquellos tiempos laberínticos.
Los tiempos cambian. Por tal motivo, en cuestiones de gobernanza y empeños políticos que se asumen - hoy - en los círculos decisorios de nuestro país, con el propósito de dar continuidad al proceso revolucionario cubano, en un contexto pandémico nacional e internacional complejo y condiciones casi extremas de acecho imperial que favorecen el aceleramiento de lo que parece ser un estado de inanición de nuestra economía.
Y como si fuera poco, con la insospechada presencia de manifestaciones de inconformidad popular, se impone la necesidad de actuar, sin cortapisas, en el ejercicio de un discernimiento que coloque, en condición de imperativo, a respuestas concretas que puedan allanar el camino para percibir y corregir, a tono con la coyuntura actual, el galopante anacronismo que se expresa en la ambigüedad y el recelo político, asumidos todos estos años - al parecer con intenciones inocuas - que vienen resultando escollos difíciles de sortear, para hacer prevalecer - lo antes posible - los signos de estabilidad que el país necesita, en su aspiración de poder configurar una "SOBERANÍA NACIONAL", de reluciente y sostenida prosperidad.
Son tiempos laberínticos.
La "Patria" está en peligro y sus hijos, en ascuas. Entonces, apremian los más extraordinarios sacrificios, en aras de restituir la fe colectiva, dejando a un lado equívocos, desidia y atajos infructuosos para que - al fin - se pueda encontrar la brecha por donde una posible renovación de la voluntad política oficial se encauce - con aciertos - en la búsqueda de estrategias generadoras de cambios trascendentales en nuestra economía, que logren desatar, significativamente, las fuerzas productivas.
Y así, materializar la necesaria y definitiva inserción, de ésta, en los dominios del mercado internacional con signos de competitividad, pujanza y eficaz control estatal. Lo que implicaría una bocanada de esperanza que pudiera ubicarnos en una posición más favorable, ante un panorama socio-político inédito, en el que se viene incubando - además - un fenómeno de segmentación inducida de la subjetividad nacional, quizás imperceptible para muchos, y que va señalando, irremediablemente, un cambio de época - por consiguiente generacional - en la que, las "Redes Sociales" se erigen como instrumento poderoso y eficaz, no sólo para ejercer el legítimo derecho a la información y la comunicación de manera formal, sino, para convocar a la movilización popular instantánea y subvertir el orden constitucional, como se ha estado intentando hacer. Al parecer, al costo que sea necesario.
Y lo cierto es que, resulta muy difícil acallar esos truenos. Como incongruente resultaría redundar en la obsesión de desalinear las certezas, que se vierten también en esos medios. Por lo que es prudente, en lo adelante, explotar más el recurso del diálogo y la consulta, a la hora de asumir las decisiones que tendrán que tomarse, irrenunciablemente.
Haciendo participe a los diferentes sectores de la sociedad y otorgando mayor jerarquía al juvenil , pero en todas las instancias. Hay que poner a pruebas el liderazgo territorial que, se supone, deben portar como atributo esencial, los gobernadores, intendentes y funcionarios políticos, en la cuestionada tarea de vincularse con las masas: [Si el "Presidente y Primer Secretario del P.C.C, de la República", lo hace frecuentemente, por qué razón éstos, en no pocos lugares, están prescindiendo de este deber que les concierne].
Algunos yacen en un caparazon que los hace, muchas veces, inexitentes. Nuestro actual modo existencial transcurre en un letargo de perturbación psíquico-emocional por la incertidumbre y el miedo que nos va inoculando, poco a poco, la acechanza pandémica, los efectos del cambio climático y la escasez material.
Vivimos una insospechada "Guerra Silenciosa" de magnitudes extraordinarias, que exige a los que desempeñan, hoy, importantes responsabilidades en nuestro país, llevar una carga sublime, en el lado izquierdo del pecho.
Por lo que es sumamente costoso prescindir en circunstancias como éstas, de la rigurosa y sistemática radiografía ideológica, a la que han de verse sometidos los principales cuadros, de todos los niveles, para poder evaluar, objetivamente, su desempeño.
Haciendo el mayor énfasis, en el análisis y valoración de su gestión, ejemplo personal y capacidad que muestra para anticiparse a las posibles situaciones álgidas que nos pueden venir encima, como nación.
Nuestro apóstol lo sentenció: "Prever es la cualidad esencial, en la constitución y gobierno de los pueblos. Gobernar no es más que prever".
Para los seres humanos, de aquí o de allá, alineados con los postulados que rigen las buenas maneras, siempre serán inaceptables las manifestaciones de impetuosidad extrema, en las calles. Pero las posturas de legítimo civismo [sin propensión a la violencia] exhibidas, también, los días: 11 y 12/julio/21, en varios sitios de la geografía cubana, así como las causas que las generaron, no deben desestimarse.
Como no deben subestimarse, los principios, valores y derechos genuinos, sobre los que descansan los anhelos de paz, soberanía e independencia nacional, con prosperidad.

Some texts are born from an urgent need to pour onto paper the anguish, uncertainty, and emotional burden of a specific moment. I wrote this essay in 2021, amidst a climate of high social tension, scarcity, and pandemic-related lockdowns—conditions that took a toll on the mental health and collective faith of all Cubans.
Today, I share it with this community as a form of intellectual catharsis: an unfiltered, spontaneous outpouring that reflects the pain, concern, and search for hope in the face of a complex reality. It serves as a testament to what I felt and thought during those labyrinthine times.
Times change. For this reason, regarding governance and the political commitments currently being undertaken within our country’s decision-making circles—aimed at ensuring the continuity of the Cuban revolutionary process—we find ourselves in a complex national and international pandemic context, compounded by near-extreme conditions of imperial pressure. These factors are accelerating what appears to be a state of starvation for our economy.
Furthermore, the unexpected emergence of public discontent makes it imperative to act—without restraint—by exercising a discernment that prioritizes concrete responses. Such responses are essential to pave the way for identifying and correcting, in light of the current situation, the rampant anachronism manifested in political ambiguity and suspicion—attitudes maintained for years, ostensibly with benign intentions, but which have now become formidable obstacles. Overcoming them is crucial to establishing, as soon as possible, the stability the country requires in its pursuit of a "NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY" characterized by vibrant and sustained prosperity.
These are labyrinthine times.
The "Homeland" is in danger, and its children are on edge. Extraordinary sacrifices are now urgently required to restore collective faith. This means casting aside misunderstandings, apathy, and fruitless shortcuts, so that—at long last—a path may be found toward a genuine renewal of official political will. Such a renewal should be directed, effectively, toward crafting strategies that drive profound economic change—strategies capable of truly unleashing our productive forces.
In this way, we could achieve the necessary and definitive integration of our economy into the international market, characterized by competitiveness, vigor, and effective state oversight. This would offer a glimmer of hope, placing us in a more favorable position within an unprecedented socio-political landscape—a landscape where, moreover, an induced segmentation of the national consciousness is taking root. Though perhaps imperceptible to many, this trend signals an inevitable shift in an era—and, by extension, a generational transition—in which "social media" has emerged as a powerful and effective tool. It serves not only to exercise the legitimate right to information and communication, but also to trigger instantaneous popular mobilization and subvert the constitutional order—as has indeed been attempted, seemingly at any cost.
The truth is, it is very difficult to silence such thunderous developments. It would be equally futile to persist in the obsessive attempt to undermine the certainties that are also being voiced through these very channels. Therefore, it is prudent, moving forward, to make greater use of dialogue and consultation when it comes to making the decisions that—inevitably—must be taken.
This involves engaging various sectors of society, while giving greater prominence to the youth—across all levels. It is time to put to the test the territorial leadership that governors, mayors, and political officials are—theoretically—expected to possess as an essential attribute: the ability to connect with the general public. (If the "President and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba" does this frequently, why is it that, in so many places, these other officials are neglecting this duty?)
Some remain tucked away in a shell that, in many cases, renders them effectively invisible. Our current existence is marked by a state of lethargy, compounded by the psychological and emotional distress fueled by the uncertainty and fear—gradually instilled in us—stemming from the looming threat of the pandemic, the effects of climate change, and material scarcity.
We are living through an unexpected "war..."
...a "silent" [task/undertaking] of extraordinary magnitude, which requires those who currently hold significant responsibilities in our country to carry a sublime burden on the left side of their chests.
Therefore, it is extremely costly—under circumstances such as these—to forgo a rigorous and systematic ideological assessment, to which key personnel at all levels must be subjected in order to objectively evaluate their performance.
Greatest emphasis must be placed on the analysis and evaluation of their management, their personal example, and their capacity to anticipate potential critical situations that may confront us as a nation.
Our apostle declared: "Foresight is the essential quality in the constitution and governance of nations." "To govern is nothing more than to foresee."
For human beings—wherever they may be—who subscribe to the principles of proper conduct, displays of extreme impetuosity in the streets will always be unacceptable. However, the expressions of legitimate civic engagement (devoid of any propensity for violence) that were witnessed on July 11 and 12, 2021, across various locations in Cuba—as well as the underlying causes that gave rise to them—should not be dismissed.
Nor should one underestimate the genuine principles, values, and rights upon which the aspirations for peace, sovereignty, national independence, and prosperity are founded.
