"Entre penumbras e insomnios: Crónica de un día cualquiera"...// "Amidst Twilight and Insomnia: Chronicle of an Ordinary Day"...[Esp-Eng]

"Amidst Twilight and Insomnia: Chronicle of an Ordinary Day"...
Greetings, dear #hivecuba Hivers
Today I will share with you, exactly as it happened, a brief—and perhaps insignificant—episode from my life.
☆☆☆☆☆
I do so from here, in the land where I was born some years ago. I do not claim to deserve praise; I only wish for it to be known. For it is a reflection of an existence fraught with anger, suffering, and hopelessness.
Coal prices are rising!
BUT... "GOD HELPS THOSE WHO RISE EARLY...!"
That early morning, I headed to what was then the town's "Panadería Especial" (Special Bakery)—located near my home—hoping to secure a good spot in the line that usually formed there.
I wanted to buy the semi-finished biscuits they sold for $3.00 each (the looming monster of inflation hadn't even reared its head yet).
At that time, it was the only item on offer; the bakery's signature "specialty" item had already disappeared...
We were all waiting impatiently when, unexpectedly and amidst the usual gloom, a door opened. Standing before us, a baker—after wishing us a good morning—delivered the unpleasant news: due to a lack of fuel, the production run for that shift hadn't been possible. It wasn't the first time this had happened recently.
That news had a powerful impact on my psyche (and, I imagine, on everyone else's).
I thought, ipso facto, that the day was off to a terrible start; the breakfast plans were falling apart, and there would be no other options left.
For a few days prior, the bread production supplying the basic food basket had also been unstable due to a flour shortage. At least, that was the reason given by the sector's administrators.**
But then I passively accepted the experience, so as not to let anger seep in so early on...
It had dawned cloudy. I remembered that the "Sierra Maestra" food establishment—located at the corner of 7th Street and 6th Avenue (across from the park)—occasionally offered snacks and soft drinks early in the morning. I made my way there briskly.
That is how I managed to buy four snacks with a spreadable filling (?) for $8.00 each and a liter of mango soda for $12.00.
Thank the Lord...!
The rest was secured and safely put away.
In the afternoon, a large number of locals gathered in front of "La Comercial"... An open sale of a limited range of toiletries had been announced.
The rest of the day turned out to be peaceful...
The early hours of that night passed in absolute calm, bringing an end to yet another grim day.
By then, the only sounds were faint music—the source of which I’ve never been able to identify—and the shouts of intrepid street vendors venturing into the thick, dangerous darkness. There, the loud clatter of horseshoes on asphalt mingled with the harsh cracks of whips wielded by the carriage drivers (who do not own the animals) against the backs of the unfortunate beasts.
Late at night, amidst the deep gloom, I collapsed from exhaustion, yet the profound reflections brought on by insomnia weighed even more heavily upon me.
