When I saw the prompt, one person came to my mind immediately—my friend, Ovzy.
I was in SS3 while she was in SS2. Even though I was her senior, we became very close. She was the kind of friend who would check up on me almost every day. She talked a lot too! Sometimes she would tell me stories I wanted to hear, and other times stories I didn't ask for. But that was just who she was, and it always made me smile.
After I graduated and started university, she moved up to SS3. Life became busy, and we didn't talk as often as before.
Then one day, while scrolling through my phone, I saw people posting "RIP Ovzy."
At first, I thought it was a joke.
It wasn't.
I later found out she had been swept away by floodwaters after a heavy rainfall. When I saw the photos and videos, I couldn't hold back my tears. It was hard to believe that someone so full of life was suddenly gone.
Losing her taught me that life can change in a single moment. It also reminded me not to take the people around me for granted.
For me, death was the end of her time on earth, but it wasn't the end of her impact. Every time I remember her laughter, her endless stories, and how she always checked up on me, I know she still lives on in my memories.
Some people leave this world too soon, but the love, kindness, and memories they leave behind never truly die.
Rest in peace, Ovzy. You'll always be remembered. 🤍.Rest in peace to all our beloved ones whom we lost in cold hands of death,May their soul rest in bossom of the lord.
Thank you for reading.
