I took these pictures in church during Benediction and I just want to share how I felt.

It was after evening Mass, the priest brought out the Monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament and placed it on the altar. Immediately everywhere was quiet. No noise, everybody kneeling. That quiet alone made me emotional.

I grew up as a Catholic and they taught us that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist, not just bread. So each time I see the Monstrance lifted, I remember that it is Jesus Himself that is there looking at me. It is not easy to explain but you will feel it if you are there.

What caught my attention that day was how the Mass servers knelt. One of them was holding incense and you could see the smoke rising. The candles were burning at the altar, the cross was just above, and the priest had to cover his hands before carrying the Blessed Sacrament. All this respect just shows how important this moment is.

While I was kneeling down there, I just started praying inside my heart. I told God about things that have been worrying me, about my family, about work, about some things I have been asking Him for long....... I did not shout, I just whispered in my heart. And somehow, I felt peace. That kind of peace that tells you that God has heard you even if answer has not come yet.

These days life is so busy, we run up and down and forget to just sit with Jesus..... But Benediction forces you to stop, to kneel, to be still.... It reminds you that Jesus is still King and He is still on the throne.

If you are a Catholic and you always rush out after Mass, please try and stay for Benediction next time..... Just kneel and talk to Jesus. You will not regret it.

May Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament bless us. Amen.
