If you ask me this question last year, I would quickly say passion. But now, I have come to understand that life is not that simple.

Passion is good. In fact, it is what keeps you alive.When you are doingg what yoou love, you doon't feeel tireed. You can stay up all night writing, singing, drawing, because you enjoy it.... I know some people who left good paying job to follow their passion and today they are happy, they are making money from it too.

But let me tell you the truth, passion alone cannot pay rent in Lagos or Abuja. Landlord will not understand that you are following your passion when your rent expires. You will still need to eat, take care of family, buy data. I have a friend who is very talented in music, but since he refused to do any other job, he has been struggling. No money, always borrowing. It affected his mental health.

Financial security on the other hand gives you peace. When you know that at the end of the month, salary will enter, you will be more relaxed. You can plan your life. Even if the job is boring, at least you have money to sort things.

So for me now, I believe in balancing the two. Don't just sit down and say I am following my passion while you are hungry..... Get something that will give you money first, even if it is small, then use your spare time to grow your passion..... Gradually your passion will start bringing money and you can leave the job if you want.

Everybody's situation is different. If your pareents can suppoort you, you can takee the rissk and folloow passioon fullyy. But if you are the one carrying family load, please secure money first.

That is how I see it.
