Hi, everyone. I’ve finally been cleared by my doctor to run again, and what better way to do it than on a trip to the beach—which I love so much. It’s called Cochaima, located in Santa Fe, Sucre Department.

The race was 5 kilometers, and even though I hadn’t run in a few weeks, I was able to complete it without any trouble. My average pace was 5:23. Not bad at all.

Today more than ever, I can attest that running a race requires more than just being physically fit and wanting to run. It’s also very important to be mentally prepared for it. Because when the moment comes when your legs give out, your mind is capable of convincing you to keep going and not stop. Today it was only 5 kilometers, yes, but if I hadn’t been in a great mental state and felt motivated, I wouldn’t have been able to maintain that pace throughout the entire run.

This is the first of my training sessions for the race on September 27, which will take place as part of Farmatina’s support for the victims of the June 24 earthquake.

Starting Monday, the 21st, everyone can sign up by donating any of the items on the list posted by Farmatina on its Instagram account. This will be a very special race because it won’t just be an opportunity to run alongside hundreds of people—it will also be a great chance to support those who need it most right now.

My plan is to train at least five times before the race. And now that I have the doctor’s clearance, I can resume my training without any issues. See you soon, dear friends.
