Mandarin and oatmeal flan || Flan de mandarina y avena
Greetings! Wishing you all the best. Today I want to share a recipe for a very simple but very special dessert, to which everyone can add their personal touch, as it usually happens in the kitchen.
Today I was given some tangerines and to my surprise they were quite sweet, contrary to what I thought, because I know that the tangerine season is near but the best crops have not yet been harvested.
I decided to prepare a flan with tangerine flavor, but loaded with all the fiber and power that gives us an ingredient like oats.
I invite you to join me in the step-by-step of this recipe.
Ingredients:
- Enough tangerines to make 1/2 cup of juice, I used 4 small ones.
- 4 Tablespoons of cornstarch.
- 1 cup of oat flakes.
- 4 tablespoons of sugar for the flan.
- 2 tablespoons of sugar for the caramel.
- 3 cups of water.
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla.
Preparation
Soak the oat flakes in sufficient water for at least one hour to hydrate them. The water used to hydrate is separate from the water that will be used for the flan.
Extract the juice from the mandarins, strain it and set aside.
In a pot we add a couple of spoonfuls of sugar to make the caramel, we take it to moderate heat until it begins to melt and take color. When it is ready we add it to our mold.
I did not make much caramel, just enough so that the flan would not stick to the mold.
Bring the preparation to moderate heat and stir constantly until it begins to thicken, it happens quickly, in the first 5 minutes. Stir until it begins to boil and remove from heat.
Add the mixture to the mold with the caramel, let cool, cover and then refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours.
Unmold and enjoy.

隆Saludos!
Ingredientes:
- Mandarinas suficientes para sacar media taza de jugo, yo us茅 4 peque帽as.
- 4 Cucharadas de maicena o almid贸n de ma铆z.
- 1 Taza de avena en hojuelas.
- 4 Cucharadas de az煤car para el flan.
- 2 Cucharadas de az煤car para el caramelo.
- 3 Tazas de agua.
- 1 Cucharada de vainilla.
Preparaci贸n
Desmoldar y disfrutar.
Gracias por acompa帽arme.
