Since heavy rain was (once again) in the forecast tomorrow I figured it was a good day to head over the mountains to Prescott for some hiking down in Copper Basin with Lulu.
It was beautiful and quiet down along Copper Basin Wash with just songbirds for company (no critters for Lulu to chase). The recent rains had left a bit of watering the hills so there was still moisture along the wash but only a few colorful pieces of copper ones to be found.
The cooler weather and breeze made for great conditions for us both but Lulu really enjoyed the miles.
We hiked down almost 2 miles before we stopped for a little rest and a big drink for Lulu before heading back up the wash. Not a difficult hike but it was good to be back in the hills once again.
Maybe next winter we'll stay in Prescott.
