I have no idea if any of you are fans of this kind of movie, but I am. So today I'm here to tell you a little bit about my impression of this new film that followed up on a first part that turned out to be mostly entertaining. It's to be expected that second parts, after having a box office success (so to speak), want to keep capitalizing on it with a sequel, but most of the time, when Hollywood directors do this, 2 things happen: either it turns out to be a total failure or it surpasses the previous one. In the case of M3GAN 2.0, from my point of view, neither happened. It just stood apart from the first one and turned out to be just as entertaining, with good effects and a different story.

No tengo idea si alguno de ustedes es fan de este tipo de películas, pero yo si lo soy. Por eso hoy vengo a hablarles un poco sobre mi impresión de este nuevo film que le dio seguimiento a una primera parte que resultó ser más que todo entretenido. Es de esperarse que las segundas partes, luego de tener un éxito de taquilla (por así decirlo), quieran seguir sacando provecho de ello con una continuación, pero la mayoría de las veces cuando los directores de Hollywood hacen esto, ocurren 2 cosas: o resulta ser un fracaso total o supera a la anterior. En el caso de M3GAN 2.0, desde mi punto de vista no ocurrió ni lo uno ni lo otro. Sólo se mantuvo al margen de la primera y resultó ser igual de entretenida, con buenos efectos y una historia diferente.

The movie, as you know, in the first part shows a doll with Artificial Intelligence that evolves with its programming code base and becomes autonomous, making its own decisions and analyzing in its way, according to what its intelligence allows, every situation until it ends up protecting its owner to the extreme, reaching the point of wanting to harm others, to achieve its goal. But for this second installment, things were different. That is, they wanted to go from a full-fledged villain with M3GAN to a cute heroine who understands humans better and now wants to save them. If you ask me, I can't compare one with the other since they touch different themes, which, despite presenting the same character, show an opposite face to what she was in the first film.

La película, si bien saben en la primera parte muestran a una muñeca con Inteligencia Artificial que evoluciona con su código base de programación y se vuelve autónoma, llegando a tomar sus propias decisiones y analizando a su manera, de acuerdo a lo que su inteligencia lo permite, cada situación hasta terminar protegiendo al extremo a su dueña, llegando al punto de querer hacerle daño a los demás, con el fin de cumplir su objetivo. Pero para esta segunda entrega, la cosa fue totalmente diferente. Es decir, quisieron pasar de una villana hecha y derecha con M3GAN a una linda heroína que comprende mejor a los humanos y ahora quiere salvarlos. Si me preguntan, no puedo comparar una con la otra ya que tocan temas diferentes, que a pesar de presentar el mismo personaje, muestran una cara opuesta a lo que fue en el primer film.

This time, they introduce another character as a villain, played by Ivanna Sakhno, who, in my opinion, did a terrific job, and I was sure I had seen her in another series working as a badass as well. And yes, she did, in Ahsoka, as a Sith apprentice. For me, watching this girl act was the best thing about the movie. I mean, her role as an autonomous robot was great and taken to another level. The details she added to her character were great, like not blinking at any time and staying expressionless in the fight scenes. Also, her fight scenes were great, and the confrontation I liked the most was the one she had with the redeemed M3GAN to atone for her sins. Both actresses were very agile, and I could tell they trained a lot to act as naturally as possible during the action scenes.

En esta ocasión presentan a otro personaje como villano, interpretado por Ivanna Sakhno, quien a mi parecer hizo un trabajo estupendo y estaba seguro de haberla visto en otra serie trabajando de malvada también. Y sí que lo hizo, en Ahsoka, como aprendiz de Sith. Para mi, ver esta chica actuar fue lo mejor de la película, es decir, su papel como robot autónomo fue estupendo y llevado a otro nivel. Los detalles que le agregó a su personaje fueron estupendos como el hecho de no parpadear en ningún momento y mantenerse inexpresiva en las escenas de pelea. Además sus escenas de combate estuvieron geniales y el enfrentamiento que más me gustó fue el que tuvo con la M3GAN redimida para expiar sus pecados. Ambas actrices me resultaron muy ágiles y se ve que entrenaron bastante para actuar lo más natural posible durante las escenas de acción.

As for M3GAN's personality, it's not that he became a little angel. She still had the urge to kill, but this time her owner knew how to control her. Besides, they kept her ironic and sarcastic touch, characteristic of this robot, which makes her memorable. For me, M3GAN is a villain with a lot of potential, capable of evolving and thanks to the Internet. Finally, I must add that the special effects were carried out in a simple way, simple but very well executed. The movie reminded me in some moments of Mission Impossible, with advanced technology, but not so much for the time in which we are living. For me, it is something that is coming, in terms of robotic evolution and how artificial intelligence is going, but not to the extreme of provoking a world war between machines and humans. If I have to rate this movie, I give it a 6.5 out of 10. It is different and turned out to be quite entertaining.

En cuanto a la personalidad de M3GAN, no es que se volvió un angelito. Mantenía sus ganas de matar, pero esta vez su dueña sabía cómo controlarla. Además mantuvieron su toque irónico y sarcástico caracteristico de esta robot que la hace memorable. Para mí M3GAN es una villana con mucho potencial, capaz de evolucionar con el paso del tiempo y gracias al Internet. Por último debo agregar que los efectos especiales fueron llevados a cabo de manera sencilla, simple pero muy bien ejecutados. La película me recordó en algunos instantes a Misión Imposible, con una tecnología avanzada pero no tanto para el tiempo en el que estamos viviendo. Para mí, es algo que se ve venir, en cuanto a evolución robótica y por como va la inteligencia artificial, pero no al extremo de provocar una guerra mundial entre máquinas y humanos. Si tengo que calificar esta película, le doy un 6.5 de 10. Es diferente y resultó ser bastante entretenida.
