I think emotions are the most complex thing about being human, sometimes we look like an erupting volcano, out of control, when we can not manage them properly and even these are repressed for a long time and end up the same, overflowing.
The theme of the month of the "Emotions & Feelings" community is mistrust. At first I thought I was not so distrustful, but as I read the initiative's publication, I realized that I am, and very much so.
Since we are children, the events we experience shape our behavior, for example, once I was riding a skateboard, I tripped over a small stone and the wheels got stuck and I fell, which caused me to scrape my knees and hands.
From that moment on I could no longer ride a skateboard with the same confidence, I knew that it was not as safe as I thought and that without being able to avoid it or predict it, I could fall again, there was nothing I could do about it, except not to use it, if I did not want risks.
As it happens with everything in life, every event that hurts us in some way, creates traces in the soul, that even unintentionally, predisposes us not to trust, because it is a lesson we learn and since it hurt us, we do not want to repeat it.
When our first tooth is pulled out, we have no idea what it is about, but the next ones, our mother had to run after us to take them out by force, not voluntarily, although in my case my mother offered us prizes and thus negotiated with us to make it less difficult.
On the other hand, we learn disappointment when someone lies to us, I think it is the biggest disappointment, whether they are our parents, friends, colleagues, loves... a lie teaches us that the word has no value by itself, that it depends on the person who emits it and that it is our decision to trust or not, because we really cannot know for sure if someone is lying or telling the truth.
Besides, it turns out to be more painful a lie, the more you appreciate the person who lies to you.
If it is not someone close to you, it is enough for you to say, what an idiot, I don't know what you gain with that, you decide not to believe him anymore, you leave him aside and it doesn't go any further. But when it is someone you love, you even feel that your heart fractures and the rage consumes you, besides it becomes very difficult to forget that fact, as well as to forgive.

The solution? I think the best thing to do is to keep those who lie out of our lives, whenever possible, but there are cases, such as when it comes to family members, when it is not possible, so it is better to leave to each person the responsibility for their actions, if they lie or not, it is their problem, we cannot be doing something similar to a cognitive scientific interpretation, with hypotheses and theories, based on their arguments, to decide whether we believe them or not.
At least me, most of the time I decide to believe and, as in the justice system, I assume that the person is innocent, until proven otherwise. Although there are cases so reiterative, that I opt for the opposite, not to believe.
The important thing, in both cases, is to feel peace with respect to that fact and that it does not affect us, nor generate negative feelings, because at the end of the day, it is their problem, not ours.
What is true is that we can't be crying, or like curmudgeons, always about the same situation, it is exhausting and irrational, we must solve it in the way that generates more peace.
If we know that politicians lie and it is not at all surprising that they do so, why should we launch a long list of expletives against them. I rather hope to rejoice if one day one of them complies. At least that is my position, according to what I have experienced.
And yes, I am suspicious, there are people, events, situations, that I prefer to avoid to not give them the opportunity to hurt, and no, it is not something healthy in many occasions, because it is not about not getting on the skateboard to avoid falling, but rather to get on, knowing that you can fall, although you hope in your heart, that it is not so.
