Today, October 1, Venezuela—like much of the world—is celebrating International Coffee Day, with the aim of “recognizing coffee farmers and the cultural importance of this beverage.” Although this event dates back to 2015, I only found out about it today when some colleagues mentioned it at the office.
“We have to have a coffee today,” someone said, and I agreed, even though I’m not a coffee lover 😅.
When I got home, I told my husband and kids, “Today is International Coffee Day. I think it’s a good idea to go out this afternoon for a cup.”
I had a very important appointment scheduled for today, which, by the way, was a complete success—and I’ll dedicate another post to it. Anyway, once I was done, I went home feeling happy, shared the good news with my family, and we went out to a place that serves desserts and coffee—a place we hadn’t tried yet and wanted to see what it was like.
We placed our order, and then I noticed that the place had some really beautiful murals. I took some photos, a few of which I’m sharing in this post.
My daughter, who doesn't drink coffee at all, enjoyed a brownie with ice cream, while the rest of us had cappuccinos.
We enjoyed the moment, but I have to say we didn't like the drinks. At least my little princess liked her dessert.
But what really matters here is the time we spent together.
The thing is, we often have wonderful experiences without much planning; sometimes we don’t realize that a positive attitude matters more than the opportunity itself.
We all have busy schedules at home, but we find the time to treat ourselves to this little break.
On the front door of this place, there was a phrase inscribed that I really identify with: “Life is a canvas; you decide how to paint it,” which is attributed to the famous painter Vincent van Gogh.
It often happens that, even with the paintbrush in our hands, we wait for others to make their marks on our canvas, when in reality it should be our own creation.
A little faith in our abilities wouldn’t hurt, knowing that God provides us with everything we need to be who we want to be and achieve whatever we are capable of dreaming.
And these are the thoughts I’d like to share with you today, my friends.
Every day offers us a blank canvas, ready for us to build our dreams, stroke by stroke.
To all of you, thank you for joining me on this journey through these words.
Thank you very much
