The hike is 2.5 miles up to the pond from the trailhead. Unfortunately, the road was closed to repair a culvert about 0.6 miles away from the trail head so our hike was 3.1 miles one way.
We had lunch at a shelter above the lake. Then were back at the pickup truck by about 2pm. The hike starts at the road and climbs up 1480 feet. A pretty good workout 馃槄 Our hike took us up to the Long Trail. The Long Trail runs along the top of the Green Mountains so there are lots of trails that provide access up to the Long Trail. The local trails are great for short day hikes and are necessary for through hikers to come down for resupply.
This is the best hike I've been on for awhile. I'll definitely be back 馃檪
