Welcome to my #wednesdaywalk hosted every week by @tattoodjay.
I took my normal walk down to the lake but went a different way today.
I decided to take some pictures of all the summertime activities closed for winter. This is the beach at Waterhouse with all the dock sections pulled up on the sand.
Of course the boats are also wrapped up or stored away for winter.
The local campground is also closed. A few of the "regulars" that come back each year park their RVs here year round. There is another larger campground at the end of the lake that actually has a small store and a separate restaurant. Although the restaurant is reduced to mostly an ice cream stand the last few seasons.
Docks are stored all over like in this parking lot.
Some of the docks are just pulled up out of the water and left in place. The sky brightened up during my walk and is actually a pretty blue with some clouds now.
We are expecting more snow tonight. Some of the plants get little snow shelters like this one. This is more common around the edge of houses where the roofs dump snow on unsuspecting plants 馃檪
Even some of the winter activities are closed down. The lake hasn't been frozen enough for ice fishing huts to be left out. There have been a few weekend where they pop up then go away. The VAST trail is closed for lack of snow right now. The sign laying on the dock is usually stuck in the ice on the lake.
The VAST trail is a 4700 mile network of trails that covers much of Vermont. VAST stands for Vermont Association of Snow Travellers. https://vtvast.org/trails.html you can find more info here. They even have an interactive map of which trails are open.
That wraps up my short #wednesdaywalk. Hope you have a great Wednesday and find some time to take a break for your own #wednesdaywalk 馃檪
