And here I am finally talking about one of my greatest passions: food.
I write my first post on this topic telling you about my experience in a Japanese / Chinese cuisine restaurant that offers the all you can eat formula.
I make a small premise: I know very well that this restaurant has little or nothing to do with Chinese and Japanese cuisine, but in Italy they have been very fashionable for a few years now, so sometimes I eat there.
This place is located in the province of Bergamo and is called Aya Sushi (probably a franchise).

Scrivo il mio primo post su questo argomento raccontandovi la mia esperienza in un ristorante di cucina giapponese/cinese che offre la formula all you can eat.
Faccio un piccola premessa: so benissimo che questi ristorante poco o nulla hanno a che fare con la cucina cinese e nemmeno con quella giapponese, ma in Italia vanno molto di moda, da qualche anno ormai, quindi qualche volta mi capita di mangiare lì.
Questo posto si trova in provincia di Bergamo e si chiama Aya Sushi (probabilmente si tratta di un franchising).

The first thing I always order in these restaurants is the Chinese steamed bun, the bao, which I must admit has always the same taste in all the places where I tasted it: a small, very soft and sweet bun that is certainly pre-frozen, which unfortunately reminds me very distantly the taste and texture of the original bao. Despite this I always eat at least a couple ... The steamed sandwich of this restaurant seemed to me, however, slightly smaller than those I usually order.
In addition to this, dinner always begins with a pair of spring rolls without infamy and without praise.

La prima cosa che ordino sempre in questi ristoranti è il panino al vapore cinese, il bao, che devo ammettere ha sempre lo stesso sapore in tutti i posti in cui l'ho assaggiato: un piccolo panino molto morbido e dolciastro sicuramente presurgelato che purtroppo ricorda molto lontanamente il sapore e la consistenza dei bao originali. Nonstante questo ne mangio sempre almeno un paio... Il panino al vapore di questo ristorante mi sembrava però leggermente più piccolo rispetto a quelli che ordino di solito.
Oltre a questo la cena inizia sempre con un paio di involtini primavera senza infamia e senza lode.

Moving on to sushi I ordered the classic salmon nigiri, usually I tend to avoid taking other types of fish in all you can eat restaurants, knowing full well that quality is never excellent.
I must admit that I was not overly impressed. The portion was small, the fish not very good and the rice left me a bit perplexed, I don't think it was the kind of rice suitable for sushi.
The mango version was slightly better.

Passando al sushi ho ordinato il classico nigiri al salmone, di solito tendo ad evitare di prendere altri tipi di pesce nei ristoranti all you can eat, sapendo benissimo che la qualità non è mai eccelsa.
Devo ammettere che non mi ha entusiasmato eccessivamente. La porzione era piccola, il pesce non buonissimo e il riso mi ha lasciata un po' perplessa, non credo fosse il tipo di riso adatto per il sushi.
Leggermente più buona era la versione con il mango.

I want to give a few more points to the presentation of the dishes. There are certainly few all you can eat places that put so much care into presenting the dishes.

I then wanted to try a nigiri rolls, aware of the fact that they are nothing but Western reinterpretations of the classic Japanese sushi. In fact, if you happen to go to Japan, you should know that you won't find a single restaurant that serves this kind of dish.
I'm not a big fan of this type of "fusion" cuisine and in fact, despite having tried one of the strangest ones on the menu (with strawberries and almonds) I was quite disappointed.

Ho poi voluto provare un nigiri rolls, consapevole del fatto che altro non sono se non rivisitazioni occidentali del classico sushi giapponese. Infatti se vi capitasse di andare in Giappone sappiate che non troverete un singolo ristorante che serve questo tipo di piatto.
Non sono una grande fan di questo tipo di cucina "fusion" ed in effetti, nonostante abbia voluto azzardare nel provarne uno tra i più strano che avevano nel menù (con fragole e mandorle) ne sono rimasta abbastanza delusa.

One of the things I liked most was the temaki, the seaweed cone with rice, fish and other ingredients.
I ordered one with spicy salmon, crispy potatoes on top and a sauce unknown to me.
I liked this a lot, so much so that I took two, but I think it is due to the fact that the sauce, very good, covered the flavor of the rest of the ingredients that were perhaps not of excellent quality.

Una delle cose che ho apprezzato di più è stato il temaki, il cono di alghe con riso, pesce ed altre ingredienti.
Io ne ho ordinato uno con salmone piccante, patate croccanti sopra e una salsa a me sconosciuta.
Questo mi è piaciuto molto, tanto che ne ho presi due, ma credo sia dovuto al fatto che la salsa, molto buona, copriva il sapore del resto degli ingredienti che forse non erano di eccelsa qualità.

Finally I ate a portion of steamed dumpling, quite good and in any case average for this type of restaurants. I must confess, however, that dumplings are one of my favorite dishes, so I am hardly disappointed.

Alla fine ho mangiato una porzione di ravioli al vapore, abbastanza buoni e comunque nella media per questo tipo di ristoranti. Devo confessare, tuttavia, che i ravioli al vapore sono uno dei miei piatti preferiti, quindi difficilmente ne resto delusa.

In conclusion I can not say fully satisfied with this restaurant, some dishes were acceptable (although far from the real Chinese and Japanese cuisine) other things left me totally perplexed and, if I were to return to this restaurant, I do not think I would order them again.
The place is clean and brand new. The furnishings are among the most beautiful I've seen in an all you can eat restaurant.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The price is € 25.90 for dinner, maybe a little higher than the average of these places.
Being on a very busy road I find that the location is optimal to attract new customers even just passing through and there is ample parking.
Will I go back to this restaurant? I don't know, probably the fact that it's very close to my house is a plus.
And you, do you go to the all you can eat places? Have you ever tasted real Chinese and Japanese cuisine?

In conclusione io non posso dirmi pienamente soddisfatta di questo ristorante, alcuni piatti erano accettabili (anche se lontanissimi dalla vera cucina cinese e giapponese) altre cose mi hanno lasciata totalmente perplessa e, se dovessi tornare in questo ristorante, non credo le ordinerei di nuovo.
Il locale è pulito e nuovissimo. Gli arredi sono tra i più belli che abbia visto in un ristorante all you can eat.
Il personale è cordiale e disponibile.ùIl prezzo è di 25,90 euro per la cena, forse un po' più elevato rispetto alla media di questi locali.
Trovandosi su una strada molto traffica trovo che la posizione sia ottimale per attirare nuovi clienti anche solo di passaggio e c'è un ampio parcheggio.
Tornerò in questo ristorante? Non so, probabilmente il fatto che sia molto vicino a casa mia è un punto a favore.
E voi, frequentate i locali all you can eat? Avete mai assaggiato la vera cucina cinese e giapponese?
