Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Method

  1. Melt butter with oil in a skillet. Soften the minced onion.
  2. Add the drumsticks and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add garlic and paprika. Brown the chicken, turning as it colors.
  4. Pour in 1 cup water. Cover and simmer until the chicken is cooked through, 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. Uncover. Stir in ketchup and yellow mustard.
  6. Cook, turning the pieces, until the liquid reduces to a glossy glaze that coats the chicken.
  7. Finish with parsley.

Notes

Garlic (3 cloves), paprika (1 teaspoon), ketchup (1 tablespoon), mustard (1 tablespoon), and water (1 cup) are on-screen. Butter, oil, onion, and eight drumsticks are estimated from the pan. The caption mentions Italy; the method is this skillet glaze.
