I just finished a 5.334km running that lasted about 0hh:30mm:50ss !
After Sunday's half marathon I was not going to go too mad on my run today. A friend had been adding some Strava 'segments' around here and I thought I would try setting some times on those. Fartlek (fast play) is a sort of improvised interval training and I was aiming to sprint the segments.
My legs were a bit tired still, but I did what I could. The uneven ground on some paths was tricky with the low sun in my eyes. I did not want to trip. Lots of people out walking again. In the past they would be mostly with dogs, but now they are largely just out for exercise and to get out of the house.
I went out across the fields, but did a lot of it in the reverse direction to usual. That involved some long uphill stretches that I was not going to sprint today.
I managed 4th place on one segment with the potential to go faster. Getting down close to 4min/km is nice, but I cannot sustain that for very long. It is about getting used to that speed and building the endurance.
I was very warm by the time I got back. The sun is shining and making for a nice evening, but it is likely to cool down overnight.
