I do not really need to generate my own chart to show the state of things when I can just snapshot this list. The last week has seen huge loses across the board. $HIVE has actually dropped less than some others, but then it was low to start with.
I do not know all the causes, but this seems like a big adjustment. Perhaps the speculators are moving their money into AI ventures, but then they may only care about profit. The other side of crypto lies in its origins of offering alternatives to conventional finance. In the case of Hive the coin provides incentives to blog and to run the necessary infrastructure. Unlike some others it is not a massive energy hog and transactions are both fast and free. Like many blockchains the transactions are all public, so you do have to be aware that your actions can be monitored.
I do not rely on Hive income, but I know many use it to cover daily expenses and so they will be hit by the current price. I always thought it had the potential to empower people who struggle to get by and I hope that can still happen. This is part of why I want it to succeed. I have no plans to power down for now.
is the group behind
and
who have a proposal where they plan to burn the funds they get. I think this is partly symbolic, but it may affect the Hive economy a little. When tokens are continually being generated then inflation can be an issue, especially if you are trying to maintain a stablecoin.
I started the whisky community a while back. It is fairly quiet, but has a particular focus. I need to post about my latest bottles, but just put one up.
The HiveDevs community is a good place to see what people are working on. I see asked about backing up a Hive profile and
immediately provided a solution. There is also a login alternative from
that uses your Google Drive to securely store keys.
I will skip the Dog House this week as I need to concentrate on positive aspects of Hive for now. On such an unrestricted platform there is little I can do about bad behaviour. Just know that if you are seen as bad for Hive then some people are likely to take action. I have no influence on that.
I will be publishing an updated #BritList tomorrow, so let me know of any additions and prod your inactive friends to get back onto Hive. We need more active people to make it even more fun.
Enjoy your weekend and Hive five!
