When it comes to crypto, blockchain or alts projects, multiple truths can actually coexist and I do think that these truths are aligned and one is not more relevant than the other.
For example that are two truths I currently know, they are: Hive is seriously struggling and secondly the general alt market is struggling seriously. I don't think anyone of them outweighs the other as they are both serious truths.
Yesterday I saw the ecceny proposal for about 250 HBD a day, I felt it was completely ridiculous proposal to ask from a chain that is trying to survive, and I heard that it was actually reduced from 333 HBD a day. I think the question to ask is, can Hive do without ecceny?
Yes.
I'm not undermining what ecceny has built, but these are testing times and a these are periods where the creativity of a frontend comes to play. No establishment or chain has only good times, and even users in the comment section could agree.
I'm not a DEV and I don't claim to be one, but I think this is the age of AI and most proposals on Hive can be carefully done by AI as they're not core blockchain proposals.
Claude max is like 31$ per month or something and I think a lot of these proposals owners has to understand that there are times of plenty and there are times of lack, and if people, members of a place cannot collectively find ways to survive periods of scarcity then maybe they don't deserve the period of plenty.
We all collectively know that the cost of running the chain can reduce by over 80% and people are beginning to realize that a lot of overpriced proposals needs to actually go, but how did they discover? Of course they did because of the plummeting of the market.
There were many of those proposals we didn't need, like the ones with the endless wells in Ghana that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and we're probably just waking up to realize that these were the type of scam proposals that made sure decent proposals at the moment cannot get funded.
HiveFest
Yesterday RoelandDP announced Hivefest and 90% of the people in the comment section were absolutely livid.
I think it was expected, a lot of people are paranoid about the state of Hive, and how we actually need fresh stats and new ideas and something different, I think this is a good reaction because it shows that beyond all, people still care about this platform, this chain and its well-being.
That said, will the event still hold? Perhaps it might, maybe, maybe not, who knows, but at least the organizers understand the standpoint of the community members, they understand that need for urgency and something creative.
I like to think this chain has some of the most brilliant mind in the crypto space and we're not lacking big ideas to actually make things better. Ecceny for example can choose to be creative and become more than a frontend.
They can offer a service, get people to pay, offer something unique, do more than just being a way to access the chain, and probably reduce that 250$ cost by another 70 to 80%
Awareness by consequences
At this point people are becoming more aware of the situation. A few others are becoming paranoid and overstating it.
There this particular account that rants constantly about Hive name being horrible, I know it's probably one of those rage episodes where they quit in a few months time, it's clearly written and I've seen people do this countless times: rage talk for months and then quit after a while.
However I still think this is where I emphasis the fact that multiple truths can actually coexist and Hive is not the only alt project suffering, but this doesn't mean we need to sit and not do anything.
