Stuck and frustrated by relentless freezes and glitches in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, I couldn't talk to the mercenary at first. After accidentally boarding the ship early and climbing the mast for photos, a cutscene triggered with Bonnet. Fed up with the bugs, I decided to quit for now until I can find a better and glitch-free version.
The man finally decided to get up on his feet after all. He was the mercenary who would take me to Havana, so I tried talking to him to see if I could finally get there, but he seemed to be stuck in place and I couldn't even interact with him.
I was really fed up; the game kept sticking and freezing, and all these glitches were making me angry since I couldn't even interact with the main NPC.
Deciding to try getting to the ship before quitting so I could capture some more photos, I made my way toward the vessel without the merchant.
The people on the ship looked so surprised to see me there, especially since the captain had been left on the shore to di, how funny was that? I couldn't pilot the ship right then, so I decided to climb up to the mast to take some photographs from the highest point.
But right as I was exploring, a cutscene triggered where Edward was suddenly dragged back to the shore to meet Bonnet, the merchant, who thanked him for saving him.
The merchant introduced his vessel to Kenway, and Edward introduced himself as Duncan, mentioning he needed to get to Havana. Bonnet replied that Havana was his destination too.
Now I had to get to the ship along with Bonnet. I was almost ready to quit playing and uninstall the game right then and there, but the game wouldn't let me quit easily and even auto-saved twice.
We swam out to the ship again, but the vessel was in a glitchy, broken state, and I didn't think I could continue playing through all these technical issues.
Still, I tried to push through a little longer. Once I was on the ship with the mercenary, I had to steer and pilot it toward Havana.
It looked like Kenway was a natural-born ship captain because he instantly knew how to pilot the vessel. But ultimately, I couldn't keep playing because it was just too time-consuming with all the constant bugs, even though I had enjoyed parts of it.
So, it was goodbye for now, maybe I will try playing the game again later after purchasing it or finding a better, bug-free version.
