Hello, music lovers! 🎶
Yeah, it's Friday — time for #newtunes!
Meute, JMSN, Jaz Sol, Altın Gün, Wind’s Whispers feat. Nina Feldgrill, Atomic Habitz, King Buffalo, Cult of Luna.
This isn’t a music chart of hits, but rather some new music by well-known and lesser-known artists that’s been stuck in my head since last week.
Maybe one of them will become a global hit? I don't think so.
But maybe something here will catch your interest? The only way to find out is to let yourself be completely swept away by the music and just listen. If a song catches your attention, follow that spark and see where it takes you.
If a song doesn’t speak to you, just move on to the next musical adventure.

Meute - Reset
Meute, a German band from Hamburg, always brings back summer memories—at least for me. I’ve been following them for quite some time now, though not since their formation in 2015. A disco-techno brass marching band, they use wind instruments and percussion to perform acoustic renditions of techno, house, and deep house. It’s excellent, as far as I’m concerned. They’ve released four studio albums, one live album, and one compilation. The audio production is exceptional. It’s not always live, but still. Even the tracks that are (sometimes) recorded fit the context perfectly.
The first single from the album KOSMOS, which is set to be released in March of next year.

JMSN - I Don't Even Think About U
JMSN, an American singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, has been a DIY artist from the start and has already had a 15-year career. I’ve been following him for about a year now. He’s a very talented musician—people call him “your favorite artist’s favorite artist.”
The song “I Don’t Even Think About U” is a single from his latest album.

Jaz Sol – Wildfire (Live Looping) | Mooloolaba Music
Jaz Sol is an Australian singer, songwriter, and performer from Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. I first heard about her a few weeks ago. She combines soul, R&B, funk, and blues with electronic elements through live looping.
The song “Wildfire” is her third single. Maybe we’ll hear more interesting things from her in the future.
🎵 🎧 🎵
Altın Gün - Neredesin Sen (Live on KEXP)
Altın Gün is a Dutch band from Amsterdam. Since 2016, they have been performing Turkish folk and Anatolian psychedelic music with a modern twist. They have released seven studio albums.
The song “Neredesin Sen” (Where Are You?) from their latest album, Garip, released in February, is performed here live on KEXP.
🎵 🎧 🎵
Wind’s Whispers feat. Nina Feldgrill - "Ocean Waves" @ musig im pflegidach, Muri
Wind’s Whispers is a European modern jazz/fusion ensemble led by Austrian bassist and composer Nina Feldgrill from Vienna. They’ve been playing and improvising together for two years. They haven’t released a studio album yet. They’re a new name to me.
Their latest single, “Ocean Waves,” was released ten days ago and recorded at the Musig im Pflegidach concert in Mur, Switzerland—it really caught my attention. I’d just call it good old classic jazz-rock.
🎵 🎧 🎵
Atomic Habitz - Be Thankful4 What U Got
Atomic Habitz is a new American trio formed this year—a new name to me. All three members are already established musicians with long-standing careers. They’re a “supergroup” in the vein of deep funk, soul-jazz, and blues—combining Marcus King’s vocals and guitar, Chris Dave’s rhythm, and MonoNeon’s unique funky bass.
The song “Be Thankful4 What U Got” covers William DeVaughn’s 1974 soul hit “Be Thankful What You Got,” recorded at the Newport Jazz Festival. What else can I say but “Just be thankful for what you got”
🎵 🎧 🎵
King Buffalo - Vagabond
King Buffalo is an American heavy psychedelic/stoner rock trio from Rochester. They have been playing since 2013 and have released six studio albums. They are known for their heavy, hypnotic riffs, atmospheric psychedelic and stoner sound, and long, groove-oriented songs. They have opened for Clutch, All Them Witches, and Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats.
The song “Vagabond” is a single from their upcoming seventh album, Doomsayer, which will be released in November.
🎵 🎧 🎵
Cult of Luna - The Rift
And finally, Cult of Luna, a Swedish post-metal band from Umeå. They’ve been playing together since 1998 and have released nine studio albums to date. Atmospheric sludge metal with elements of doom. Long, slow, and heavy songs.
The song “The Rift” is a single and a preview of their new album, In The Shadow Of Your Shadow, which is set to be released this November. It’s in the style mentioned above—I won’t repeat myself.
🎵 🎧 🎵
🎶 That should be all for today. Thanks for your attention, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!
One more thing: If you follow me, you may have noticed I’ve started using the service Scrobble.life/Music by @acidyo quite a bit. The service is still under development, but it’s fully integrated with the Hive blockchain—maybe I’ll create my annual playlist there, instead of on Spotify. Just being able to listen to the entire song is a huge advantage. :)
