Ethan Gold - I'm Always Sad
Ethan Gold is an American performer, songwriter, film composer, and poet from San Francisco. He has been active in the music scene since 2007. To date, he has released three studio albums and three film score albums. His music is described as indie rock/experimental pop or “art rock for hermits.” It is emotional, nocturnal, cinematic, and often melancholic and introspective.
The song “I’m Always Sad” is from his latest album, Earth City 2: Nightfolk, which was released in late March of this year. It speaks of chronic sadness and loneliness amid a crowd.

Rat Cage - Steady On Now
Rat Cage is a British hardcore punk band from Sheffield. They’ve been active since 2017 and have released several EPs and three studio albums. They play fast, raw, frenetic, and dirty ’80s-style hardcore punk. Their songs are short and aggressive, with no polish and raspy vocals.
The song “Steady On Now” is the opener on their latest album, Not Asking For Much, released a month ago. It has a bit more melody than their previous albums but is still raw and uncompromising.

Ronnie and The Redwoods - Love The Pain
Ronnie and The Redwoods is an American band from Lubbock, Texas. They’ve been performing since 2017. So far, they’ve released a few EPs and plenty of singles. They play Texas Americana rock with strong roots in folk, country, and blues. This band is new to me, and I’ll be keeping an eye on them.
The song “Love The Pain” hasn’t been officially released anywhere; it’s just a live session recorded at Foxtone Studios.

Social Distortion - Wicked Game
I’ve already mentioned Social Distortion, veterans of the California hardcore scene, in #newtunes. Their music has evolved from punk and hardcore into rockabilly, country, and blues.
The song “Wicked Game” is a cover of Chris Isaak’s 1989 hit, which was also featured in David Lynch’s film Wild at Heart. It appears on the band’s latest, eighth album, Born To Kill, which was released in late May of this year. Unlike the original, it’s more guitar-driven and has a raw, punk-rock edge.

Death Cassette - Cheaper to Die (Music Video)
Death Cassette is a Canadian band from Winnipeg. They’ve been playing since 2018 and have released one EP and two studio albums. Their sound blends punk and grunge—energetic and vocal-driven, with elements of hardcore and alt-punk.
The song “Cheaper to Die” is a single from the album of the same name, released in early September this year. It features punk guitar riffs paired with instantly catchy, raspy vocals.

Father Of Peace - The Chaos
Father Of Peace is an Israeli band founded in Tel Aviv in 2023. A new name to me. So far, they’ve released two albums, the second of which, The Year of Madness & The Mystery Century, came out just today. They describe their sound as “suncore”—raw energy, rock with modern arrangements, melody, and intensity.
The song “The Chaos” is the single from their latest album. Heavy and rock-driven, energetic and mysterious, it speaks of chaos, ruins, and the desire to escape into space or underground.

U2 - Silencio
U2, the global music powerhouse, released a brand-new song, “Silencio,” yesterday, announcing their new 16th album, Carnaval De Luz. It’s their first studio album in nine years and marks the band’s 50th anniversary.
A short, punchy rock song driven by rhythm, a thumping bassline, sharp guitars, and raw energy.

Jazzito Blue - Supersonic
To wrap things up, let’s move on to some AI-generated music. Jazzito Blue isn’t a real band—it’s actually the work of Beat Luethy from Bern, Switzerland. He releases jazz/lounge tracks that blend bolero, swing, and fusion. Based on the song’s structure and style, it was most likely created using Suno, which is known for producing convincing jazz (piano, bass, brush drums, saxophone), though it still lacks the true improvisation and “human touch” of authentic jazz.
In 2023, music experts said that AI didn’t know how to play jazz yet—but by 2026, the results were already good enough for background music and YouTube.
