Hail to the Hive!
Just over 5 years ago, not too far from here, we broke down on our first little narrowboat 'Badger'. Turns out it ended up being one of the best things that could have happened to us on the canals as we ended up spending months here waiting on the order of a replacement engine and getting it fitted. What we came to realise is that the family that run the boat yard are absolute gems and you couldn't, and probably wouldn't ,find them if you were looking. It was a random recommendation from someone that watched my youtube channel.
5 years later we are back with two boats to sort out but we couldn't be more relaxed about it. We are adjusted to canal life pace. We are working, and at the moment being in one place while working and sorting out the boats takes alot of the stress out of the equation.
That and the place feels like home, it's familiar and there's easy access to anything you may need.
And if you fancy a nice bracing walk, there's plenty of nature walks on the doorstep too. Just mind the puddles 馃槈, or make sure you have the right footwear.
I have to remind myself as well, that nothing is ever finished. There will always be shit to do. So roll with it, don't forget to have fun, don't be a lazy arse, and keep your main focus on your own path.
Cos you're the one who's going to have to walk it!
ohhh and i do
Love a bit of #monomad 馃槣
