Good morning, #Monomad friends

Here is my entry for the #monomad contest by brumest@brumest and monochromes@monochromes.

Majestic: impressive because of size or beauty

Majesty—the noun that denotes the quality or capacity to be majestic, that is, the grandeur, dignity, nobility, and imposing nature of something or someone.

What is relevant or stands out? Is it something that you, or society, points out, and that we then embrace and adopt as something that is also ours?

The grandeur of things ultimately proves to be fleeting. It always will be. If we think about it, not all the gold in the world will be ours forever. We can indeed hold onto or possess, or hide something while we are alive. Nothing that exists will remain with us forever, nor will it ever be held by our descendants forever.

We should all keep this in mind more often. We could look at others as true sources, as true relics, which, despite being fragile and fleeting, are unique. Irreplaceable.

It is in this search for the other—for that unique gaze, for that unique moment, whether beautiful or not—that I find my inspiration, or that which most captures my interest.

Of course, works of art and material objects have their own importance, obviously. They, too, are unique—in their own reality. And they, too, will not last forever, even though many have outlived us.

On a trip to Porto in February of last year, I wandered through the streets and alleys. There are many iconic and beautiful buildings in this city. Waiting to be visited, looked at, admired. But none of that would be possible if these cities, which fall asleep every day, were not explored and viewed from the outside by those who walk through and live in them.
