Hail to the Hive!
Have you ever woke up in the morning with a strong craving for something and then realise that you don't have it at home? That was me this morning. I wanted cheesecake with my coffee and nothing, not one thing, was going to take it's place and be anything other than disappointing.
Hmmm so what to do?
Well as I lay there in bed aboard Badger the Narrowboat i could visualise in my minds eye the distance between the boat and Aldi. This also meant the distance between the boat and CHEESECAKE!
I lay there and weighed it up, do I don't I? Shall I? I could, it's close, only 15 minutes walk. Go on! GO ON!
So I did.
I leapt out of bed carefully clambering over @millycf1976 and making a mental note to buy her some croissants while I was there. It would also be a good idea to maybe top up on some more coffee.
It was a beautiful morning and I took a quick glance around at the boat and its surroundings and then started a quick step towards the supermarket.
It wasn't long, maybe 5 minutes, before I reached the steps leading down from the canal into the town of Llangollan.
Across the road and over the bridge that spans the River Dee.
As walks to Aldi go this is pretty picturesque.
Once over the bridge an immediate right turn down the alley that leads to the foot path that follows the river.
This is a really cool little town, full of character.
I was walking at a brisk pace and the air was cool, fresh and clean. I felt pretty good and felt i had purpose, even though it was just a cheesecake kinda purpose.
5 mins down the river and the not so picturesque Aldi was in my sights. I felt like a hunter going in for my kill shot.
POW POW POW!
Coffee, cheesecake, croissants! Can I hunt or what?
Now to leg it back to the boat.
Cheesecake unboxed, oooooh if you could only see my smile.
Breaking badger coffee filter pot on the go.
I do love this quirky coffee maker and it really does make a good tasty clean brew.
and I get to channel my inner Walter White.
As I looked at this I got a real sense of achievement and all this before 9:30am.
