Greetings!
Watching people who have committed a sex crime going scot free or being rehabilitated after serving their jail term is the most annoying that should not be permitted and this is not just because of the crime in itself, but because of the damage that might have been done to the victim in question.
Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is all about, " sex crime." Like I have just said in the above paragraph, sex crime is not just an ordinary crime and this is because it has to do with another person's body and aside from this, it's a crime that violates the other person's body.
Now, violating another's body is not something that should just be swept under the carpet and this is because of the trauma and stigma that comes with such crime most especially on the victim who might not be able to handle such a situation as it's expected of them.
I have on many occasions listened to the news and stories about how a child is being defiled by those that are enough to give birth to them and the question is that, are the perpetrators of this act animals? Why should they just go so low on defiling a child?
To me, for someone who is an adult to stoop so low to defile a child who he or she can give birth to, that means such a person is not a sane person and for this reason, they should be punished for the sex crime offense they have committed and this their punishment should not be limited to jail term alone, but if possible, life banishment from the society.
Doing this would help to make a society a saner place to live in and not only that, it would help to send warnings to those who are to perpetuate the same criminal act thereby making the society a worthy place to live in.
Rehabilitating a sex crime offender after he or she serves the jail term they have been sentenced to does not mean they will change or become a changed person. One thing I have over time realized is that, those that perpetuate this act are always found in the habit of doing the same over and over again and this is because they are already addicted to doing so.
So to me, it would be a welcome development for me if they are banished from the society and from seeing their family and children as they if not being curtailed can corrupt the society and the lives of their children and the young ones in the society. They should not be allowed to live in the society and this would help in stopping this heinous act which has really jeopardized the future of many in the society.
