Justice should be equal for everyone, and we have laws that establish justice in society as well as in the country. The rulebook says that law is blind and it is equal for everyone. But it's not entirely true. A case can be taken from different perspectives, according to the rule book. The most controversial one is the law for children. In my country's law, if a person is not adult, the law shows tolerance. Is it okay to show tolerance for those people who are not adults? Let me discuss it.
What does the word adult mean? Adult means a person is capable enough to think independently. It also means that the person is responsible for all of his decisions and is quite well aware the consequences of his decision. So, punishing adults is justifiable because they are capable enough to understand the consequences of their actions. On the other hand, it says that children are innocent. And they do many things just because of curiosity or try to prove themselves in front of others and many times they also commit some serious crime, which can be unintentional also. As they are not mature enough to withstand the consequences, law shows leniency to those children.
According to my country's law, under 18 years old, every person is considered as a child and if they commit any kind of crime they are being considered as law under child's law. It is understandable when a kid does crime without having the understanding or without having the maturity to understand the consequences of their action. But the fact is that the child of the present time is quite advanced and very good when it comes to understanding and their thinking ability is quite better compared to the past generation. So, judging the maturity or understanding of the present kids or children cannot be measured by the old law.
At the present time, children also know the law quite well and I think because of technology they can easily get all information related to it. They are so good at it that they can even beat the elderly people when it comes to understanding or taking advantage of a certain situation or certain law. They are not the ones like the children of the past who used to play with toys. There are many cases in my country where children take advantage of the child's law. There exists the history of murdering people also and the criminal almost remains unaffected just because of the child's law when the murder was pre planned.
My thoughts are quite simple when it comes to crime. I believe that there should be no mercy in case of punishment. If the crime is equal, then punishment should be equal. I don't believe that little kids can do serious crime for what they deserve serious punishment. If they can do it, then they are not a kid in my opinion. They are criminals. So, the child's law is one kind of protection for the criminals considering the situation of my country who is in underage. So, I don't support this kind of law.
I'm sure that there are many people who think that such a law is very necessary, and, in that case, I think that the parents of those kids should be punished altogether because they fail to guide their children. Unless their children become adults, parents should be responsible for each action of their child. That's what I want to talk about in the case of child's law.
