Today I was at home in the morning and took the opportunity to cut some bushes on the outside of the house, as their branches were entering the porch where my mother-in-law has all her ornamental plants. I also cut a vine-like bush that was in the yard and climbing up the wall.
I usually have to cut the branches or most of the bushes on the outside of the wall. Even though no one waters them and it hardly ever rains on the island, they grow constantly.

Hoy me encontraba en casa en la ma帽ana y aprovech茅 de cortar unas matas que se encuentran en el lado externo de la casa, ya que sus ramas estaban entrando al porche de la casa d贸nde m铆 suegra tiene todas sus matas ornamentales, y adem谩s cort茅 una mata tipo enredadera que estaba en la parte del patio y que estaba trepando pegada de la tapia.
Generalmente tengo que estar cortando las ramas o gran parte de las matas que se encuentra del lado externo de la tapia, aunque nadie las riega y casi no llueve en la isla, estas crecen constantemente.
To do this, I used a machete and telescopic shears that are used to cut branches from very tall trees. I always go to the neighboring property and cut the branches or bushes from there, but this time I did it from the house because the vegetation outside is very tall and there are many guaritoto bushes, which sting your skin when you brush against them.
I started by using the machete to cut the vines that were growing over the wall. To do this, I set up a ladder and climbed to the top of the wall, and with the help of the machete, I cut and removed the vines from the wall. This part was easy.

Para ello utilice un machete y una tijera telesc贸pica que se usa para cortar ramas de 谩rboles muy altos; siempre paso al terreno de al lado y desde all铆 cort贸 las ramas o matas, pero est谩 vez lo hice desde la casa por qu茅 por fuera la vegetaci贸n est谩 muy alta y hay muchas matas de guaritoto, las cuales al rozarlas te empieza a picar la piel.
Comenc茅 usando el machete para cortar las enredaderas que estaban entrando por la tapia, para eso coloque una escalera y me sub铆 hasta la parte de arriba de la tapia y con la ayuda del machete fui cortando y despegando la enredadera de la tapia, est谩 parte fue sencilla.
Then I moved on to a ceiba tree that is growing right next to the wall. I have cut it down several times, but it keeps growing back with new trunks and branches. This worries me because the roots of this tree are very large and can lift the porch floor and break the tiles.
So, I rolled the ladder over to the ceiba tree and sat on the wall. From there, I cut the branches that were within my reach with the machete, then with the help of the telescopic shears, I cut the higher branches, leaving the vertical branches that come out of the trunk for last. I cut the vertical branches that were close to the wall with the machete and with the help of the telescopic shears, I cut the branches that were further away.
When I finished cutting the ceiba tree, I moved the ladder to the yaque tree. I only cut the branches that were inside the house and some branches that could enter in a few weeks. This took me a while because its branches are harder and thornier, and the machete was not very sharp.

Luego me fui con un 谩rbol de ceiba que est谩 creciendo pegado de la tapia, la cu谩l ya lo he cortado varias veces y sigue sacando tronco y ramas, 茅sto me preocupa por qu茅 las raices de este 谩rbol son muy grandes y pueden levantar el piso del porche y reventar la cer谩mica.
As铆 que rod茅 la escalera hasta el 谩rbol de ceiba y me sent茅 sobre la tapia. De all铆 corte las ramas que estaban a mi alcance con el machete, luego con la ayuda de la tijera telesc贸pica corte las ramas m谩s altas, dejando para 煤ltimo las ramas verticales que salen del tronco. Corte con el machete las ramas verticales que se encontraban cerca la tapia y con ayuda de la sierra de la tijera telesc贸pica cort茅 las ramas m谩s alejadas.
Al terminar de cortar la ceiba mov铆 la escalera hasta el 谩rbol de yaque, a este s贸lo le cort茅 las ramas que estaban dentro de la casa y algunas ramas que pod铆an entrar en una semanas, este me cost贸 un poco por qu茅 sus ramas son m谩s duras y espinosa y el machete no estaba muy afiliado.
After two hours, I finished cutting all the branches that were inside the house. I also pruned and cut the trees near the wall, so they would be ready to be pruned again next year.
