As part of the changes we’re making to the house, I decided it was time to make a small improvement to the home’s lighting. That change involved replacing the house’s light fixtures with 18W surface-mounted LED panels from the AWA brand, which emit cool light (6500K). These panels are excellent because, unlike recessed panels, you don’t have to drill large holes in the ceiling or wall—they’re installed directly on the surface using a handy metal bracket.

Aqui como parte de los cambios que se están haciendo en la casa decidí que era momento de hacer una pequeña mejora en la iluminación de la casa. Y ese cambio fue cambiar las lámparas de la casa por Paneles LED de superficie de 18W de la marca AWA, los cuales cuentan con luz fría (6500K). Estos dispositivos son excelentes porque, a diferencia de los paneles empotrados, no tienes que hacer grandes agujeros en el techo o la pared porque se instalan directamente sobre la superficie gracias a un soporte metálico.
Among the main advantages of these LED panels are energy savings, since they consume very little electricity while providing high luminous efficiency. In addition, they have a very attractive appearance that resembles a modern lamp. Installation is quick, and they fit well into the lamp sockets that were already in the house.
These "sophisticated" panels or bulbs provide uniform light distribution and look much better.

Entre las principales ventajas de estos paneles LED están el ahorro energético, ya que consumen muy poca electricidad ofreciendo un alto rendimiento lumínico. Además, tienen un aspecto muy estético que se asemeja a una lámpara moderna. La instalación es rápida y se adadapta bien a las tomas para las lámparas que ya estaban en la casa.
Estos paneles o bombillos "sofisticados" ofrecen una distribución de luz uniforme además se ven mucho mejor.
Installing these panels is easy. We start with the most important step, which is turning off the power at the main breaker to work safely. Once the power is off, I locate the light fixture on the wall. Some had light bulbs, while others had just the socket. Well, let’s continue—
I left the wires exposed and ready for connection.
The next step was to position the metal bracket over the junction box. Using a screwdriver and the screws included in the kit, I secured it firmly to the wall so it could safely support the weight of the panel.

Instalar estos paneles es fácil. Comenzamos con la parte más importante que es cortar el flujo eléctrico desde el breaker principal para trabajar con seguridad. Una vez cortada la electricidad, descubro el punto de luz en la pared. Habían unos con lamparas y otros donde nada más estaba la base. Bueno, sigamos,
dejé los cables expuestos y listos para la conexión.
El siguiente paso fue presentar el soporte metálico sobre la caja de conexiones. Utilizando un destornillador y los tornillos que vienen incluidos en el kit, lo fijé firmemente a la pared para que pueda sostener el peso del panel de manera segura.
Next came the electrical connection. I connected the wires from the house’s main circuit to the driver’s inputs. It’s very important to make sure the connection is secure and properly insulated. In the picture, you can see how the wires look after they’ve been placed inside the wall cavity.
With the wires securely in place, I mounted the LED panel body onto the tabs of the metal bracket and secured it on the sides using the small screws included in the box.

Luego vino la conexión eléctrica. Conecto los cables de la red principal de la casa a las entradas del driver. Es bien importante asegurarse que la unión quede bien firme y aislada. En la imagen se puede ver cómo quedan los cables despues de colocarlos dentro del hueco de la pared.
Con los cables acomodados de forma segura, monté el cuerpo del panel LED sobre las pestañas del soporte metálico y lo aseguré por los lados usando los tornillos pequeños que traen en la caja.
Then I make sure everything is secure, and I turn the power back on to test the result. The panel sits perfectly flush against the wall, and it looks pretty good—plus, the lighting is excellent.
These panels or light bulbs come in a range of prices and vary depending on size, wattage, design, and materials. The ones I bought cost $6, and we installed them in various parts of the house.

Después que me aseguro que todo está firme, restablezco la electricidad para probar el resultado y nos gustó mucho cómo se ve porque el panel queda bien al ras de la pared, y se ve bastante bien además la iluminación es muy buena.
Estos paneles o bombillos tienen diferentes precios y varian según el tamaño, cantidad de watts, diseño y materiales. Estos que yo compré costaron 6$ y los pusimos en varias partes de la casa.
