Hi, Hive friends! How have you been? Today I’m going to wrap up this series of posts about my trip to Jamaica—with the group’s return—because I wanted to show you some photos of where we stayed, but while I was cleaning up my phone, I accidentally deleted the ones from the hotel, so all I have left are the ones from our return to Venezuela.

For these trips to Jamaica, the company always books a charter flight—a flight exclusively for the team, which, by the way, was large: more than 60 people, including supervisors, workers, cooks, etc., from different parts of Venezuela. This time, we flew there and back with Estelar, and we usually took night flights—both on the way there and back.

This time was different because the earthquake had struck Venezuela, and the Maiquetía airport was not operational, so everything had to be arranged at another airport—the one in Valencia—including everyone’s return to their respective destinations. Those logistics were more tedious for the company this time, but the issue was resolved, and we were able to travel back and forth without any problems.

We were all eager to go back because the job took longer than planned—even though more days meant more money—but my parents were here with health issues, and my wife was alone with the kids, so I really needed to be with my family.

As usual, the flight was at night. We left the hotel at 7 p.m. because we had to be there early for security screening, and since there were so many of us, it took a while. At the airport, we were going to wait until 1 a.m., which was when the flight was scheduled to depart, so we walked around to kill time.

We arrived in Venezuela at the Valencia airport around 4 a.m., and some were able to leave first thing in the morning by bus, but since I was heading to Margarita, I had to fly and ended up waiting until 2 p.m. By 4 p.m., I was already at home with my family. Thank God everything went well and we were able to stick to the plan.

Well, friends, that’s all for today. Best regards, and see you next time.
