These days she made one for the living room but she grabbed it for the bedroom and saw another one that she liked but we had nothing in the house to make it because this was not a renovation, the only thing she had was the top of the shade, a ring that fits into the bulb, and I had to make the base and the electrical installation.
The lamp she wanted and what we didn't have was wood to make the lamp base, and it occurred to me that a wooden frame from the canvases we bought for our daughter Miranda to paint could fulfill that function. Now I'll explain what I did, but first I'll leave you with the list of materials I used to make it.

En estos d铆as ella hizo una para la sala pero la agarr贸 para el cuarto y vio otra que le gust贸 pero no ten铆amos nada en la casa para hacerla porque esta no era una renovaci贸n, lo 煤nico que ten铆a era la parte de arriba de la pantalla, un aro que se encaja en el bombillo, y yo ten铆a que hacer la base y la instalaci贸n el茅ctrica.
La l谩mpara que ella quer铆a y lo que no ten铆amos era madera para hacer la base de la l谩mpara, y se me ocurrio que un marco de madera de los lienzos que compramos para que nuestra hija Miranda pinte pod铆a cumplir esa funci贸n. Ahora les explico qu茅 fue lo que hice, pero primero les voy a dejar la lista de materiales que us茅 para hacerlo.

To start with the lamp the first thing I did was to make the base and since the frame was already ready what I had to make was a base to stabilize it and I used two small pieces of the same rustic wood that I used these days to put on a shelf that my wife was fixing. What I did was cut them to the size she told me and sanded them to remove any splinters.

Para comenzar con la l谩mpara lo primero que hice fue hacer la base y como el marco ya estaba listo lo que ten铆a que hacer era una base para estabilizarlo y us茅 dos trozos peque帽os de la misma madera r煤stica que us茅 en estos d铆as para ponerle a una repisa que mi esposa estaba arreglando. Lo que hice fue cortarlas del tama帽o que ella me dijo y lijarlas para quitar cualquier astilla.
To these pieces of wood with the hammer I drove two nails and then with the pickaxe I removed the heads and then with the hammer I nailed them to the frame, one on each side of one of the sides of the frame and that would be the base of the lamp and what follows is the electrical installation joining the socket and the power cable.

A estos trozos de madera con el martillo les met铆 dos clavos y despu茅s con la piqueta les quit茅 las cabezas y despu茅s con el martillo los clav茅 al marco, uno de cada lado de uno de los lados del marco y esa ser铆a la base de la l谩mpara y lo que sigue es la instalaci贸n el茅ctrica uniendo el socate y el cable de corriente.
To install the socket I started with matching the wires of the socket, I stripped and twisted the wires together with the plug wires to make the connection, then I covered them with the insulating tape. Then I inserted a screw in one of the holes of the socket to be able to fix it to the wooden frame, I tightened it until it was very tight to prevent it from moving and that way the base was almost ready.

Para instalar el s贸cate comenc茅 con emparejar los cables del socate, pel茅 y entorch茅 los cables junto con los cables del enchufe para hacer la conexi贸n, luego los cubr铆 con el teipe aislante. Despu茅s introduje un tornillo en unos de los orificios del socate para poderlo fijar al marco de madera, lo ajuste hasta quedar bien apretado para evitar que se moviera y de esa forma ya estaba casi lista la base.
With silicone I glued the cable on the back of the frame so that it would not be seen, I glued a piece of jute to the socket to cover it and with white paint I painted the base of the lamp, only one of the sides, the rest I left it as it was.

Con silic贸n pegu茅 el cable por la parte de atr谩s del marco para que no se viera, le pegu茅 un pedazo de yute al socate para taparlo y con la pintura blanca pint茅 la base de la l谩mpara, solo uno de los lados, el resto lo dej茅 como estaba.
For the lampshade I made a cylinder with cardboard, it is a cardboard two in kilo, which is firm but can be shaped and then my wife with the silicone gun glued the gray fabric, and passed around a strip of wool or worsted yarn a thick yarn, glued the cylinder on the base and the lamp was ready.

Para la pantalla hice un cilindro con cart贸n, es un cart贸n dos en kilo, que es firme pero se le puede dar forma y luego mi esposa con la pistola de silic贸n le peg贸 la tela gris, y le pas贸 alrededor una tira de hilo de lana o estambre un estambre grueso, peg贸 el cilindro en la base y ya la l谩mpara qued贸 lista.
My wife later put one of her cactus on the base of the lamp because she thought it looked empty but it turned out well and I hope you liked it. See you another time.
