The start of school involves many changes and adjustments and the kitchen does not escape from them, especially if the children have extracurricular activities apart from going to school.
Hi #hivefood friends, I hope you had a great week and that the weekend is coming up and that it will be one of relaxation and sharing with family.
At home since Saturday we have been getting sick one by one and just today is that I have felt a little better thank God, so I do not think I will do many things over the weekend but being healthy is worth everything.
Today I wanted to share with you a recipe that because of how fast it is has ended up being a lifesaver for me, especially now that the kids have started classes in addition to their extracurricular activities and many times we have to leave the house a few minutes after arriving from school, so I must have something ready that not only cooks fast but also can be eaten quickly!
And although it is a dish that surely everyone knows how to make, not all of us do it the same way. So here is my recipe for rice with chicken with beans and carrots.
Something that you will always see in my recipes is the presence of vegetables and that is because they are rich in vitamins and important nutrients for our body, they also bring a lot of color to the food and this is super important, we all know that you eat with your eyes and with children much more.
Rice with chicken is one of the most popular dishes in our country and I have seen many ways to prepare it, in fact I myself used to prepare it in a different way but I have found this way that is now my favorite.
Previously I used to prepare the chicken and rice separately and when the rice was ready I incorporated it to the chicken, but one day trying to speed up the process and make less mess I decided to do it in a different way and I ended up liking it much more and so did my guests hahaha.
One of the things I like about rice with chiken is that it is a dish that allows you to incorporate any kind of ingredients, from vegetables to sausage, chorizo, mortadella and so on. In this case the guests to my rice with chiken were carrots and beans, so here are the ingredients.
As you can see these are simple ingredients that we usually have at home and if for some reason we don't have carrots or beans you can substitute them with other vegetables.
For all my preparations I like to have everything cut and in case I can't, I organize myself in such a way that while one thing is being done I am doing something else.
This recipe makes four servings, so if you need more, or less, just adjust the ingredients. Now without further ado, let's get to the preparation.
PROCEDURE
Fry the chicken previously seasoned with salt and pepper until golden brown on both sides
Incorporate the seasonings and sauté until the onion is crystallized
Add the previously washed rice and sauté together with the chicken and seasonings
Incorporate the water, cover and bring to a boil. Once it does, lower the heat to the minimum
While our rice is cooking, if we have not previously cut the beans and carrots, this is the moment to do it and add them to our preparation
Return to cover and let it cook
In my case, I don't usually move it after adding the vegetables, I leave it untouched until the water evaporates completely. And then it would be ready to serve!
For me this is an ideal dish because although in the mornings I am alone at home is the time I use to prepare my blog posts, so the time I have to cook is not a little reduced, so I always look for something practical, especially for the days when the kids have activities in the afternoons.
And you, how do you prepare rice with chicken?
I'll read you in the comments, kisses and blessings!
Volvemos a tapar y dejamos cocinar
