El parrandon navideño es toda una tradición en los colegios venezolanos, y el día de hoy fue el de nuestra hija Miranda, y por supuesto fuimos a acompañarla. Matías quería ir, pero aún está con algo de molestia por la gripe, así que tuvo que quedarse en casa y solo fuimos mi esposo y yo.
La cita era para las 8:00 am y ahí estuvimos de manera puntual, y apenas llegamos al colegio el ambiente festivo se hizo sentir, pues sonaban las gaitas más emblemáticas de los mejores grupos del país.
Ya habían muchos representantes en el colegio, y la verdad el lugar que escogieron para la actividad se quedó corto con la cantidad de personas que había. Creo que la cancha hubiese sido una mejor opción, porque además de las presentaciones musicales, estaba la exposición navideña, con los trabajos que realizaron los niños, lo que redujo más el tamaño, pero eso no importó mucho, todos estaban con las mejores vibras navideñas y a la expectativa por ver la presentación de los niños.
Se inició la actividad con la coral del colegio, quienes interpretaron unas piezas geniales representativas de la Navidad en Venezuela y de nuestra isla, y después de tres temas se despidieron e iniciaron las presentaciones por cada grado, iniciando con los niños de primer grado, finalizando con los de sexto.
Nos tocó esperar un poco porque Miranda ya está en 5to grado y antes de ella pasan los demás grados, con dos secciones cada una, pero la verdad ni lo sentimos porque ver a los niños cantar con tanto entusiasmo y alegría fue realmente lindo.
El grupo de Miranda tuvo una presentación genial interpretando dos temas unidos como un popurri que todos cantamos muy emocionados, y al finalizar la presentación estuvimos disfrutando de las exposiciones, mientras ella se fue a jugar con sus amigas.
La dejamos compartir un rato mientras nosotros hicimos unas compras rápidas cerca del colegio, y luego fuimos por ella para regresar a casa muy felices por haber compartido con ella su día especial.
The Christmas parrandon is a tradition in Venezuelan schools, and today was our daughter Miranda's day, and of course we went with her. Matias wanted to go, but he is still a little sick with the flu, so he had to stay home and only my husband and I went.
The appointment was for 8:00 am and we were there punctually, and as soon as we arrived at the school the festive atmosphere was felt, because the most emblematic bagpipes of the best groups in the country were playing.
There were already many representatives at the school, and the truth is that the place they chose for the activity was too small for the amount of people that were there. I think that the field would have been a better option, because in addition to the musical presentations, there was the Christmas exhibition, with the work done by the children, which further reduced the size, but that did not matter much, everyone was with the best Christmas vibes and the expectation to see the presentation of the children.
The activity began with the school choir, who performed some great pieces representative of Christmas in Venezuela and our island, and after three songs they said goodbye and began the presentations for each grade, starting with the first graders, ending with the sixth graders.
We had to wait a little bit because Miranda is already in 5th grade and before her the other grades pass, with two sections each, but the truth is that we didn't even feel it because seeing the children sing with so much enthusiasm and joy was really nice.
Miranda's group had a great presentation performing two songs together as a medley that we all sang very excitedly, and at the end of the presentation we were enjoying the exhibitions, while she went to play with her friends.
We let her share some time while we did some quick shopping near the school, and then we picked her up and went home very happy to have shared her special day with her.
