Life is a constant learning process and as parents a good part of our job is precisely to educate and teach our children, but how gratifying it is to see that they manage to learn from their mistakes and decide to do what is necessary to avoid making them again.

In our daily lives there are many opportunities that arise to learn something new, to put into practice some knowledge or to make use of the values and principles that we acquire throughout our lives.

Every lived experience leaves us a lesson, which in the end, whether good or bad, definitely leaves us a learning that will be significant in our lives and in the special case of our children sometimes it is quite difficult for them to understand some concepts or basic principles.

In Miranda's case, I have told you that she is in the orchestra, but I must point out that when she enters the orchestra she is not assigned an orchestra instrument as such. They must participate in music language classes because they need to learn to read music, that is to say, to understand the scores.

Another thing they must do is to decide in which of the different programs offered by the orchestra (prior to being assigned an instrument) they want to participate.

They have different options among which are recorder, choral and cuatro classes. Miranda decided to practice the recorder, although the instrument she wants to play once she completes the steps to join the orchestra is the violin.

The recorder groups are divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Miranda is currently in the intermediate level and the truth is that although she is happy and it has been her decision to enroll in the orchestra in addition to the Ballet, the issue of practicing at home cost us.

Apparently she thought she should only practice in class with her teacher, although I had explained to her quite well how an orchestra works, as I was part of one for many years and I know it is quite demanding and, of course, requires constant practice.

Her first concert was shortly after rejoining the orchestra and after an evaluation she was incorporated into the intermediate level. Each group had different pieces according to their level of preparation. They practiced in the orchestra but she also had to practice at home.

I had to be behind her to get her to practice and at one point I told her that it was not my responsibility to remind her to practice. She knew she had a concert and it was her duty to practice at home. So I left her alone.

As a consequence of not practicing as she should have, on the day of the dress rehearsal prior to the concert the teacher told her that she was going to play with the infant children at the event because she didn't know the piece as she should have. Miranda made the decision to talk to the teacher and ask for another chance and she started rehearsing at home and got to play with her group.

A month ago we were informed that they would have an end of the school year concert as the orchestra takes vacations according to the calendar of the Ministry of Education. So they would start with two new pieces.

Unfortunately due to health issues Miranda could not attend some classes and it is here where I could see how the previous experience in which she was almost moved to the other group left a great learning experience in her.

Knowing that she was at a disadvantage with respect to the other children, since she had not been able to attend rehearsals and there were only a few days left for the concert, she decided to participate and with amazement I could see that it was necessary to ask her to practice.

One day he was writing and heard the flute playing. The truth for me was a moment of great satisfaction because in principle I could see that he assumed his commitment with responsibility and unlike the previous time he did not need me to tell him to study.

So to avoid going through a similar situation to the previous time, he really took his rehearsals with much more responsibility and learned to perfection the two pieces that corresponded to his group.

They did several rehearsals before the concert, even at times that were not established for their regular classes and although she complained a little because she insisted that they should respect class schedules (she looks like her mom haha) I explained to her that when there are concerts it will always be that way because you need to be sure that everything will be perfect.

The day of the concert was a day full of emotions and a lot of hustle and bustle for our family because in the morning Matias, my oldest son had his promotion act for first year and at noon Miranda had the concert.

She could not accompany us to the event because they only allowed two people per student so she stayed at home with her grandmother.

We arrived with Matias at the races to get Miranda ready for the concert, and although she dresses herself, she must have some kind of hairstyle and a headdress alluding to our national tricolor and besides that we had to prepare lunch and leave home early because we had to be at the orchestra at 1:30 pm.

As fast as I could I combed her hair and although it was not as elaborate as the previous time my doll looked very beautiful and once we were all ready we went to the orchestra.

Since she had not been able to take pictures with her little brother in her act, I asked Matías to leave his uniform on and we took the opportunity to take some pictures.

The concert this time was exclusively for the little ones of the house, so the Musical Kinder with the Paper Orchestra and the three levels of Recorder would be presented. Also on this occasion, on the occasion of the end of the school year, the promotions of the children who will join the orchestra in September with their new instrument were held, so it was very emotional.

The presentation began in the sweetest way, with some little ones who gave us a rhythmic demonstration. For this the teacher and the children wore white gloves and performed an exercise incorporating clapping and clicking. I thought it was an extraordinary and didactic way to teach them a little about rhythm.

They then took their paper instruments and took their seats. The children carried all the string instruments that make up the orchestra. Violins, violas, cellos and double basses made at home from scrap materials.

I can tell you that this presentation was a real beauty. You could see the love with which each family dedicated themselves to making their child's instrument and the joy with which each child played the pieces they had prepared for the occasion.

Obviously the instruments did not produce any sound but the children sang two beautiful songs related to their learning throughout the year.

Something that I really liked was the participation they gave us parents. The teacher during the presentation of the Kinder Musical children incorporated us into the activity with some dynamics, with which she got us all to participate.

Once the concert of the youngest children was over, we continued with the recorder children. Each level presented two pieces, delighting everyone present. Mostly parents and family members were happy to see the progress of their children.

The Miranda group performed the pieces Padre Juan and Tengo Tengo. It was a very beautiful act where the children were able to show us their skills playing the recorder.

In Miranda's case, I couldn't feel prouder. She joined in the month of April and that in such a short time she was able to reach the intermediate level was a great achievement thanks to her determination and effort.

I felt very proud of her, not because she was able to position herself at that level, but because of her commitment to learn, her dedication and responsibility to be there that day despite missing some rehearsals.

This is one of the reasons why I insist on the importance of extracurricular activities for children. There are many values and principles that they put into practice and that will help them to be better human beings every day.

At the end of the concert, of course we had to celebrate! Her little brother has passed to first grade, she finished school with excellent grades and was promoted to fourth grade and ended this school year in the orchestra with a beautiful concert. So we went for a walk in her favorite mall.

We enjoyed the delicious atmosphere of the place, took lots of pictures for our memories and ate some delicious barquillas in a place we had been wanting to try for a long time.

It was definitely a day we will never forget. We were able to celebrate our children's achievements and share with them moments that will remain in their hearts forever.

Super proud of my children and happy to see that we are doing a good job. They are happy, responsible and dedicated children. I am definitely fortunate to have them in my life and to be able to accompany them in each of their steps, goals and dreams.

Kisses and blessings!

Besitos y bendiciones!
