Despite its name, this bird feeds on various beetles and caterpillars. Yes, it can catch a fly, but for the most part its diet consists of insects, which it catches from the surface. By the way, due to the fact that this bird arrives early from wintering, and the weather can be completely unpredictable, the bird is able to eat frost-resistant stink bugs, which no other bird eats.

Another feature of this bird is its appearance. And to be more precise, it is the color of plumage. Young birds and females are painted in a light, faded brown color, but in adult males, the color is very diverse. It varies from light brown like in females to almost black.
