Hello Food Lovers

How are you all? I hope you are all doing well. It has been a long time since I shared a sweet dish recipe with you. So today I thought of sharing a simple and delicious sweet recipe with you all.

Actually, we do not make sweets very often at home. We also try not to eat too many sweets because too much sugar is not good for our health. But sometimes we feel like eating something sweet, especially when there is a happy moment, good news, or a special occasion at home. At that time, making something sweet feels really nice.

Today was also one of those days. We are doing some work and renovation in our house. We are also making our third floor, so there is a lot of work going on at home these days. When there is construction work at home, there are many things to take care of, and we stay very busy.

So, to celebrate this happy moment, I thought of making something sweet for my family. But because I was already very busy, I wanted to make something that was easy and did not take too much time.

That is why I decided to make Sheer Sewaiyan.

Sheer Sewaiyan is a very simple and delicious sweet dish. It is perfect when you want to make something sweet but you do not have much time. It is creamy, soft, and full of lovely flavors. It is also a very common sweet dish in Pakistan, especially on Eid and other happy occasions.

So let me show you how I made it.

For this recipe, we need milk, sugar, cardamom, saffron, butter, and sewaiyan. For the topping, I used almonds, walnuts, and pistachios. You can also use any other dry fruits that you like.

First, I took a pan and added the milk. I placed it on the stove and let it come to a boil. When the milk started boiling, I added sugar and mixed it well. Keep stirring for a little while so the sugar completely dissolves in the milk.

After that, I added cardamom and saffron. Saffron gives the Sheer Sewaiyan a beautiful light yellow color and also gives it a very nice smell and taste. At this point, I also added one tablespoon of butter. Butter makes the Sheer Sewaiyan more rich and gives it a lovely taste.

Now let the milk cook for some time. We want some of the extra water in the milk to dry up and the milk to become a little creamy.Once the milk looks a little thick and creamy, it is time to add the sewaiyan.

The sewaiyan we get in Pakistan usually comes in long pieces. So I used my hands to break them into smaller pieces. You do not need to make them very small. Just break them into medium-sized pieces and add them to the milk.

Some people also make sewaiyan without milk, and that recipe is also very tasty. I will share that recipe with you some other time. But in our home, we really like milk-based sewaiyan, so today I made this creamy version. Now cook the sewaiyan on medium heat. Keep stirring it from time to time so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.

Cook until the sewaiyan becomes soft and the milk becomes creamy. It should not be too watery. We want a nice creamy texture. When you feel that the extra liquid has dried up and the sewaiyan looks soft and creamy, turn off the stove.
Now transfer the Sheer Sewaiyan into a serving bowl.

For the topping

I took some almonds, walnuts, and pistachios. I did not make them into a very fine powder. I kept them a little chunky because I like to feel the small pieces of dry fruits while eating. So I roughly crushed the almonds, walnuts, and pistachios and sprinkled them on top of the Sheer Sewaiyan.
And that's it! Our creamy and delicious Sheer Sewaiyan is ready.

We often make Sheer Sewaiyan on Eid as well. Whenever guests come to our home during Eid, they really enjoy eating it. It is one of those simple desserts that does not need a lot of ingredients or a lot of time, but still tastes really good.

I hope you will also try this easy recipe at home. It is especially good when you are busy but still want to make something sweet for your family. If you try this recipe, do let me know how you liked it. I would love to know how your Sheer Sewaiyan turned out.
