Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, a new week and I have had a great day. Unfortunately, my app is still missing in action but I did have my walk sessions. So it's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye 👀. Thank you for reading and let's get it done 💨.
It was another cloudy morning as i brisk walked around the neighbourhood. The walking got me all warmed up and I jogged abit towards the end. Then I was indoors for some of the usual indoor chores. Meanwhile my eyes glued to the screen as they were to announce the next president, more about that in a while. Next walking came in the afternoon getting some veggies to cook. I later had my usual refreshing nap and then finally my evening nap enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃.
So what's been trending, locally a little bit of political shananigans😹 as they announced the winner of the presidential elections. There was a bit of scramble in the tallying centre before Dr. William Ruto was finally announced as winner. The other side are probably gonna challenge that win in court😱. Let's wait and see but it was such a close contest. There was a little bit of unrest in the strongholds of the loser with people lighting bonfires, however it subsided as people called for peace and calm.
Globally, lots happening as usual. First of all in Ukraine fighting is raging in the Donetsk region but Ukrainian soldiers have repelled Russians soldiers around the town of Pisky. Elsewhere, celebration in India as they celebrated independence day. In the same spirit, Taliban fighters in Afghanistan held anniversary parades celebrating a year since they took over. However, there's nothing to celebrate for most people as many are going hungry, on top of that women's rights have been reversed😱. Another hopeless situation brewing in Myanmar as former ousted leader, Aung San Suu Kyi was handed another sentence in trumped up corruption charges😱. The military is out to finish her off including democracy in that country😢. She has a dozen more cases to go.
In crazy weather, the mystery of the dead fish in river oder continues as scientists try to figure out what's killing the fish. So far up to ten tonnes of fish have been removed from the water and the banks in what has been termed as an environmental catastrophe..
