Today I'd like to share with you a Vietnamese rice noodle resturant called 'Mi Boon Dang' in Korea, Seoul. This is not your typical noodle shop. There are many suprises inside that will excite you all.
First suprise! You must choose your menu on from a machine. Like the picture below the menu machine is outside the restuarant. Pretty cool right? It somehow reminds me of tuckshop or as American's call it canteen.. dunno why.. but anyway ordering machines are also showing up in fast food places like Mcdonald's and Burger King. It's like a huge trend that has been happening since 3 years ago.
This is what the place looks like when you first enter. I couldn't take the whole place because people were eating and everyone was so close to each other, also there is another special reason but i'll tell you that in a sec ;) Restuarants like this one is best for people who eat and like eating alone. Actually there are more restuarant appearing like this where the kitchen sits in the middle and people sit alongside facing the kitchen. Like a bar I would say.
The sauce is placed above your head so it doesn't take up space and bother you whilst eating. The napkins are also situated above, upside-down (very clever) keeping the table clean.
Where do you get the cutlery? Under the table of course! Hehe the bowl for the sauce is also in there. More peolr these days are becoming single- person households so if you want to go with the flow and build a resturant for people who come alone this is the place to get great great ideas :)
Another interesting thing is that there is a personal clothes hanger behind your seat. Small restuarant but has everything a restuarant needs! Btw can you guess which coat is mine? Hehe
The sign in the below picture tells you not to be loud. You can talk but silently. That is why I couldn't take a picture of the whole area...😒 so if you want some peace and quiet this is the place to go.
The kitchen is very clean. There are 2 chiefs and 1 server who also does the dishes. You can see everything that is going on in the kitchen plus all that goes in your food, which is a big thumbs up for me. There are so many restuants I can't trust anymore.
And finally the food! First is an appetizer called fried garibi, which is fried scallops! Yum yum and yes it was so dam good. The coating was very very crispy more like crunchy! The inside was soft all the goods a scallop can have.
The main dish! Beef nice noodles! The pictures below are 2 different types. Mine was with beef briskets and my friend's was with all kinds of beef. If you like ruce noodles then this place is for you ;)
Yum yum for my tum!!
Thanks for reading :)
