After resting at the shelter until daylight, I bypassed zombie hordes along the bridge railings and rooftop paths to reach the town hall. I tried blowing open a Hive with explosives without luck, then cleared infected in the tunnel. Inside the town hall, I traded for a bow and met with Sheriff and Jacob, where they planned a secret resistance against the Baron.
I woke up at the shelter near the town hall after sleeping through the night, which meant I could travel safely without worrying about Volatiles patrolling the streets. I climbed down the safehouse tower using the ladder I had dropped earlier and hit the ground running.
I really wasn't in the mood to get dragged into useless fights, so I purposely ignored all the walking dead scattered across the road.
To bypass the thick crowd of zombies packed onto the bridge, I jumped onto the narrow side railings and sprinted right above them without stopping. Then I continued ignoring the infected around.
Along the way, I spotted a tunnel entrance marked as a Hive and received a prompt suggesting I destroy and loot it before Volatiles shows up to investigate. I tossed a Molotov right at the entrance to clear a path, but the fire didn't open it up.
I followed that up by throwing two hand grenades into the opening, but the barricade still held, which was pretty frustrating. The loud explosions immediately drew a wave of fast infected right to my location, forcing me to put them down quickly before more could swarm the tunnel.
Realizing more noise would only bring more trouble, I abandoned the Hive and kept moving toward my main objective.
The streets ahead were completely blocked by undead, so I scrambled up a lamp post to reach the rooftops and high ground.
Running across the roof ways let me move much faster, though I still had to dodge a few zombies lingering on the upper ledges.
I eventually arrived at the town hall building and headed straight for the right side, remembering the open window I had noted during my last visit. I used the secret entrance to climb inside, safely avoiding any infected at the ground entrance.
Before heading to the main office, I visited the local trader to manage my inventory. I sold off a bunch of gathered valuables for a high price, giving me enough cash to buy a hunting bow, extra ammunition, crafting feathers, and various upgrade resources.
Once I was fully stocked, I walked into the sheriff's office and found both the Sheriff and the old man Jacob waiting for me there.
The Sheriff thanked Kyle for restoring the power grid, but she expressed deep concern about sending her people out into the open, knowing the Baron held massive military strength in the valley.
Jacob agreed with her, pointing out that launching an open war against the Baron's army would be complete suicide.
Kyle suggested taking a slower, smarter approach by gathering allies across the region, building up their strength, and sending out rangers to gather intel on the Baron's movements while rebuilding the town hall defenses at the same time.
Then the Sheriff agreed to send out covert patrols to track the Baron's men, and the meeting wrapped up as Jacob and Kyle headed back out into the settlement.
I'll show what happens next later.
I personally took all the screenshots from my play and I used a logo of the game from online to use in the thumbnail.
