Determined to cleanse Mikubo Shrine and purge the surrounding fog, I navigated the rooftops using tengu spirits to reach high ground. After fighting off a strain of Visitors and absorbing spirits, I encountered elusive Nightmares that pursued me to the streets, forcing me to plan a higher-altitude approach.
I set my sights on cleansing Mikubo Shrine to purge the thick fog suffocating the surrounding district. Planning to gain high ground to glide directly toward the objective, I searched for a grappling point and spotted a tengu hovering above the rooftops right when I needed one.
I grappled up and immediately used a second nearby tengu to ascend even higher. Along the way, I absorbed a cluster of lost spirits, prompting Akito to remark on the immense scale of saving every spirit across Tokyo.
While navigating the upper ledges, I was ambushed by some Student of Misery guarding another group of trapped spirits. Caught off guard by their sudden appearance, I engaged the enemy forces, defeating them all before absorbing the spirits they had been guarding.
Resuming my route across the roofs, a group of agile Nightmares dropped in to attack me. I opened fire to hold them off, but lost my balance during the chaotic struggle and fell to the street level below.
The relentless Nightmares leaped down to continue the pursuit, and I noticed the falling raindrops strangely reversing direction and floating upward into the sky.
I drew my bow and shot at a visible Nightmare, but the creature's speed allowed it to evade the incoming arrows with ease.
Realizing ground-level bow attacks were yielding little damage, I decided to regain the high ground and scouted for another tengu to hoist myself back onto the roofs.
Reaching the high ground once more, I spotted the Nightmares moving through the air. I lined up several more bow shots from afar, but the arrows failed to deal effective damage against their swift navigations.
Recognizing that my long-range attacks were failing, I began looking for an alternate route to use to get close to them and engage them at close quarters.
We'll continue in another post.
