Climbing toward the shrine using Tengu grapples, I fought off Wanderers, a Paper Doll, and an Rain slasher. After breaking their cores and purging laughing Students of Misery in stealth, I absorbed the trapped spirits into my katashiro before continuing across the city rooftops.
Scaling the side of a building on my way toward the shrine, a squad of Wanderers spotted my approach and attacked. I moved quickly, and eliminated the lead demon before turning my elemental strikes onto the rest of the group.
With my overall abilities upgraded, taking down the patrol proved much easier than in earlier encounters.
After clearing the perimeter, I pulled myself onto the main roof they were guarding and absorbed a cluster of lost spirits directly into my katashiro.
Checking my map, I realized I was still a long distance away from the shrine destination. Looking up, I spotted a Tengu circling overhead, grappled onto its perch, and launched myself onto a higher rooftop.
Waiting on the upper ledge was an Rain slasher guarding another set of trapped souls. I hit her with rapid fire elemental weaves, shattering her guard until her exposed core became visible, allowing me to rip it out and defeat her instantly.
As I stepped forward to gather the spirits, a group of dormant demons materialized around the ledge. The moment I drew closer, they sprang to life and lunged forward.
A Paper Doll launched a series of fiery projectiles toward me, but I countered with my own fire weaves to overpower her attacks.
A Rainwalker tried to close the gap, but I blasted him back with ranged strikes, and cleared the immediate roof before absorbing the freed spirits.
Glancing across to the adjacent building, I spotted two Students of Misery laughing maniacally near another group of trapped souls. I went close to them quietly, to take them down without raising an alarm.
I dropped behind the first Student of Misery for a swift stealth purge, but the second demon turned around before I could repeat the move.
Switching back to direct combat, I hit her with a barrage of elemental weaves to end the fight and absorbed the remaining spirits on the roof.
