After looting remaining military trucks for epic weapons, I refueled my truck just before sunset. A booster jumped onto my hood during the drive, causing my vehicle to catch fire and explode. I sprinted through closing infected, made a final leap into the nearest safe zone, and slept until morning.
Now that I was done looting that convoy, I went for another truck behind it. I noticed the same access card could be used to open up the back of all the military vehicles in this area, and I found more supplies inside.
I remembered that with the last convoy I looted, I had skipped some trucks, so I knew I definitely had to get back there to fully clear them.
I went for the third military truck and unlocked it with the same access card. I found more valuables inside that I had almost ignored without knowing how useful they would be, including some epic weapons.
With the convoy job finished for real, I ran back toward my truck. Before hitting the road, I decided to refuel it, marking the first time I was going to drive a truck with a completely full tank.
It looked like it was already sunset, so I needed to reach a safe zone real fast to avoid getting hunted by volatiles. As I started reversing, a booster ran out of a tunnel and rushed toward me.
I tried to get away from the monster but it successfully jumped and landed right on the engine hood of my truck.
I kept driving toward the safe zone that I restored last time as I planned to pass the night there, and I was taking the booster along for the ride, until she finally jumped off.
I didn't know how she caught fire, but I noticed fire spreading onto my truck as well, realizing the booster had done serious damage to my vehicle.
I had to jump out of the truck real fast to avoid getting caught in the blast, and the explosion ended up being huge. I sprinted toward the safe zone, but an infected pounced on me, so I kicked him off my way.
More infected tried to stop me from reaching safety, but nothing was going to hold me back with volatiles about to spawn at any moment. I made a final leap into the safe zone as fast as I could and felt instant relief once I was inside.
I hadn't reached the original objective I went outside for because I spent the whole day on side activities. With night fallen, I went to sleep to wait for the next morning so I could head out toward the E&F plant.
