After installing electrical fuses and cranking the floodgate lever, I opened the gate and saved my game. Returning to my boat, I sped toward the Annex Library. Forced off-course by an explosion, I navigated a corpse-filled building, dodged a sudden horde of infected, and leaped out just before it exploded.
I headed back through the building toward my safe room, making sure to save my game progress right away before tackling the next objective as I didn't want to lose any progress that I went through already.
I approached the floodgate mechanism and slotted in the electrical fuses manually. The power kicked back on, allowing me to crank the heavy lever. Though I had to solve a puzzle there while attaching the fuses.
The floodgate responded and opened up, clearing the waterway ahead. Before returning to the boat, I stepped back into the safe room to save my progress once more.

Leaving the building behind, I made my way back to the dock and climbed back into the boat.
With the situation worsening by the minute, my goal was to reach the annex and escape the area as fast as possible. I started paddling, pushing the boat at full speed down the canal toward the Annex Library.
The annex structure sat directly behind a massive gate, but as I drew close, an explosion detonated nearby. I parked the boat at the dock and ran toward the gate to find a way through.
The ladder leading up to the gate controls was folded up out of reach, forcing me to search for another route.
I spotted an open doorway leading into a nearby building. Seeing dead bodies scattered around the entrance was a clear warning that navigating the interior would not be easy.
Inside, a heavy door began rattling as someone, or something, tried to force it open from the other side. Ignoring the noise, I kept moving and began climbing to the upper level.
Suddenly, two pairs of infected burst out of the room. With enemies flooding the area from all directions, standing to fight was impossible.
I turned and sprinted for the nearest exit, leaping out of the building just as a massive explosion ripped through the interior, hoping the blast wiped out every infected behind me.
