I have not posted in here for a while and JJ and me come a long way together, so here is my offering today.
Slowly and graciously this Jackal Buzzard ((Buteo rufofuscus) cruised over my head.
Just a variety of pictures here to show you some sights on our walk near a local river. Bordering the river is also a big public park, where people can walk their dogs and we come here quite often to the secluded areas.
A sense of peace and freedom reigns and the wildlife is often abundant all over the place. The river's origin is up in the mountains and we have not had a chance to get up there for some photos, as I have some trouble with my legs. But I hope that soon things will be better and that we will get up there.
O before I forget, my wife said that a little toad was under our car and so I had to put him in the garden before we left for our walk.
No better place than nature to go for a walk and have a look at how nice this olive tree orchard looked.
We had some serious dark clouds here lately, so when we saw that the day was good, we used the opportunity during a power cut to get out there.
Cry me a river, I think this was some movie title and you can see that the colors signaled the start of Autumn (Fall).
This ring neck dove looked a bit perturbed, and I will show you why in the photo below this one.
This was the reason for the dove's panic as the buzzard was floating overhead. Look how the sunlight created lovely colors in the wings and tail of the buzzard.
We sat on a bench here for a while as my legs needed some time out.
These are all evergreen trees, but you can see that the grass is starting to lose its deep green colors. Soon the grass will turn shades of yellow.

And finally I got a lucky shot of a flying dragonfly couple that is mating a bit late in the season. Dragonflies are scarce now that winter is knocking on the door.
So that's it for our walk and it was really refreshing to get out there. One can never know what one can find for the camera during these walks as most times there is something new going on. I have over time taken shots of different raptor birds here and also shots of many dogs. My favorite is always the dogs that swim in the river and the trout babies in the shallows. Occasionally we might encounter some souls, but thankfully they are all friendly and it's a real pleasure to take a walk here.
Soon I will also do some posts about some other interesting finds as time permits, as we are a bit stretched for time due to the power cuts.
