I, along with my homies, have been away from worldly experience - the fun - for some time. We all have graduated, and now is the time to earn to pay taxes and feed the richy riches. And I do not mind it at all, because soon I will be in the "richy rich" list. If not, then they suck for real.
Now before continue with the walk out, here is the picture I shared on Waves yesterday.
Words mentioned: "Lull before the storm."
So we knew it is going to rain, and it did rain - a torrential rain.
As the story continue, one of us was away from, and he was coming back from home. Following the six-year tradition, sort of a ritual, we are bound to celebrate this return with an ince-cream or brownie with a cup of tea. This home guy was already at the location: I8 sector. And we two had to go there.
The only difficulty was to choose the conveyance: car, bike, or local transport. Did the calculation, because you know, economy is killing us. The fuel prices are skyrocketting, and we wanted to save every penny possible.
500 Rupees Subsidy.
So after five-minutes of serious calculation, we opted for bike. And government is providing a 500 Rupees of subsidy, which equals to 1.25 liter of petrol. Enough for us to go and come back. The only hurdle was the - rain. But hey, we are young; and most importantly the idiots. The rain had stopped for the time being, and we just said, we will go there and will let the fate decide.
Six-years of experience ruined.
We have been living in Islamabad - capital of Pakistan - for the past six years. And we know that once it starts to rain here, it won't go easy on us. Still, we - the idiots - opted for the bike. Guess what? We actually reached their safely, without any rain. Just the extra cold atmosphere, and we were in summer attire.
Why I8?
So it is a famous sector with every brand at one sport, and a really good place to enjoy walk.
But as soon as we reached there, it started to rain. Parking was an open area, so bike was going to get wet - free wash, I guess. But it was drizzling, so no great worries.
Let the walking experience begin.
Right after five-minutes, drizzling turned into a joke. And fate started to do its thing. And then, all hell - actually cold one - broke loose.
The drizzle turned into proper rain, and within minutes, it was as if the entire sky had decided to empty itself over Islamabad. It was no longer about getting a little wet; the rain was so intense that even walking a few steps fwas nothing less of a shower itself. The roads were getting soaked, water was splashing everywhere, and we were standing there wondering what kind of genius decision had brought us to this point.
Remember, we had come on a bike to save money. Five minutes of serious economic calculations, and we had successfully invested ourselves in a situation where we could not even walk properly.
We looked at each other, and let the rain do the talking.
Next ahead, we stood there for a while - laughing, and mostly, blaming each other for the choic made.
First Winter Rain.
The rain did stop for a moment. So we started to move toward the Markaz (Center). Mother nature did not like us, so it started to rain again. But we were already soaking wet, so we continued our walk. The only problem was, the rain being extra cold. Cold enough to make us shiver. Welcome to the winter season tho, mine favorite of all.
The good thing was, we managed to get brownies. Though, it was itself a hard decision. We had to choose - economically and health wise - between an ice cream or brownie. With a 2-1 ratio; we opted for brownie with a cup of tea. The diabetes will surely love us. After the purchase, we waited for some time for the rain to stop.
Soon we gave up, and went to the Quetta Hotel with our brownies.
Little bag of Magic with rainy topping.
Anyways, the environment there was cozy and warm. We shared good laughter and memories. Like how ever outing experience turn into something strange, but memorable.
After an hour, we came out, standing in the rain waiting for it to stop for real this time. Because, we wanted to go back.
And do not ask me, what we did when our bike did not start :)
Let the sneezing have its little vacation in my body.
