Cross Publications: What can we do?

I have been reading about this topic and it seemed to me, to make a publication of how I understood this issue: If I could understand it, anyone can do it; So understanding this post will be like peeling a tangerine.

How did I get to this point? I will tell you: I have been exploring steempeak since I started using it. It seems to be an excellent Dapp although they have recently made some updates that leave me out of service because I am learning many new things for me. One of them is cross post. Not understanding, I began to ask and navigate deeper waters. Until recently it was a single-celled organism smaller than plankton, but I'm already a minnow, so I can go a little deeper, lol.

In a nutshell, I will tell you that it is like a resteem with benefits but that it can be abused by people to publish their own content several times in different communities. It looks good? For some, it may be something meaningless since it allows votes to be received (and more if they are automatic) for the same publication. This would be like publishing the same content in two different languages... or more; This is frowned upon by the vast majority, which can lead to some negative votes of being found in flagrancy.

In this regard, many recommend that at least, if the same author does so, he must decline the payment of one of them and clarify that they can vote in the original publication if it is within the span of votes.

But ... What are the benefits? The payment generated by the publication will be distributed as follows: 90% for the original author of the publication, 5% for those who cross the publication and 5% for the community or interface where it is crossed.

Although a large number of users are against this practice, especially if they cross their own publications, we can find some benefits that other users believe they find in this update.

Crossing publications of very high content would be great to disseminate the information needed to grow on the platform. In addition, it allows new or low-voting users to earn more Sp and also much faster followers. Will we find users who try to scam the platform? Of course, but they also run the risk of losing many more by receiving negative votes, losing both followers and delegations of Sp, and, of course, their valuable reputation. The important thing is to educate ourselves not to commit these abuses and be prepared to expose those who incur these faults.

Now, how can I make a cross publication?

It is not that it promotes such a practice, but it is good to make known something that could be of greater benefit than harm. If you use Steempeak, you can surely do it:

Suppose I want to cross a publication of my friend @isabelpena, about how to make cachapas. In the main view we will find 3 consecutive points (right there we find the option to edit the publication)

We click there and a box with the options to be executed will be displayed; There appears the option of cross post in.

A dialog box will appear with the instructions to follow and which says:

Select the community and add a short message (max 100 chars) for cross posting this post. When you cross post these rules applies:

• The post author (if not yourself) will be set as 90% beneficiary of the new post
• The community owner account will be set as 5% beneficiary of the new post
• A reference to the original author and post will be automatically appended to your message.

It is really very easy to make the crossing. But it is also necessary to learn the responsibility we must have in order to remain intact in the face of misuse of this tool.

But the most important thing is to know what you think of this since you also have the ability to use it and provide your point of view, whether you have crossed a publication or not.
