🍀
Sunday passed, yesterday was a holiday, and today is my partner's day off. I would say these were exactly the days I needed to hit reset.
Of course, there are always adult responsibilities to attend to. Besides, this week university classes have already started, so I've been reading and studying a lot to keep up to date, but that's something that doesn't overwhelm me; rather, it keeps me happy and motivated.
But what about those day-to-day tasks that do overwhelm us? Responsibilities are and always will be there, and chores start piling up in a corner of our minds—and of the house too—when, without meaning to, we keep putting them off.
That's why a holiday that connects with a weekend and/or a day off feels like a gift from life, and it feels wonderful to just slow down. But don't you think that a specific date, or what society accepts as a rest day, shouldn't be the only excuse or reason to stop being so hard on ourselves without feeling guilty about it?
I don't mean avoiding our responsibilities, which is impossible, especially when we have other people or creatures in our care, like for those who have children, which completely changes the daily dynamic.
What I mean is, perhaps, shifting our priorities a bit—for example, the speed at which we want to get the day's tasks done.
I mean, life is already beautiful but complicated, and sometimes it seems like we want to make it ugly by adding artificial complications created by ourselves.
Yesterday in a wave, I shared with you how my kitty reminds me that there are things I can leave for tomorrow without the world ending.
Everything is going to be okay. Even when we sometimes feel paralyzed on a project, we can simply dedicate our time to another activity we need to do that is more in tune with our energy at that moment.
And if what we need is to rest, let's go rest. Everything will be fine 🌱
