I’m taking you along to Pescia again; I was there yesterday to run some errands. I never tire of this city—it’s just so beautiful. Today, I even extended my usual route a bit. First, I took a stroll near the hospital, where I had to pick up some test results for my husband. Luckily, I found the little church dedicated to Saint Michael—located right nearby—open. I would have liked to go inside and take some photos, but just as I was about to enter, I saw the priest and the congregation arriving for a service; naturally, I decided not to go in out of respect for the worship, so I just took photos from a distance. It’s a shame, as I know there are interesting frescoes inside, but I’ll save that for next time—after all, I have to go back to Pescia next week anyway.
¡Buenas tardes, amigos del blog! Vuelvo a estar con vosotros para nuestro paseo de los miércoles; llego con un día de retraso, ya que olvidé publicar ayer por la tarde. Os llevo de nuevo a Pescia; estuve allí ayer para hacer unas gestiones. Nunca me canso de esta ciudad: es sencillamente preciosa. Hoy incluso he ampliado un poco mi ruta habitual. Primero di un paseo cerca del hospital, donde tenía que recoger unos resultados médicos de mi marido. Por suerte, encontré abierta la pequeña iglesia dedicada a San Miguel, situada muy cerca de allí. Me habría gustado entrar y sacar algunas fotos, pero justo cuando iba a hacerlo, vi llegar al sacerdote y a los fieles para un oficio religioso; naturalmente, decidí no entrar por respeto al culto, así que me limité a tomar fotos desde lejos. Es una lástima, pues sé que en el interior hay frescos interesantes, pero lo dejaré para la próxima vez; al fin y al cabo, tengo que volver a Pescia la semana que viene de todos modos.
This time, I actually changed my usual route a bit; I took some roads leading to the area above Pescia, slightly away from the town center. I had expected the outskirts to be unattractive, but that turned out not to be the case at all—the route essentially circles the historic center, offering lovely views of the houses and rooftops, and there are still plenty of charming, narrow old streets and alleys. Perhaps it’s because it’s the area immediately surrounding the center; I’d be curious to explore other parts of Pescia too, as it really seems like a beautiful town. All in all, it was a lovely walk, and luckily it wasn't too hot! Although, sadly, the heat has returned today, and I’ve had to turn on the air conditioning!
Esta vez cambié un poco mi ruta habitual; tomé unos caminos que llevan a la zona situada por encima de Pescia, alejándome ligeramente del centro urbano. Esperaba que las afueras no fueran muy atractivas, pero resultó ser todo lo contrario: la ruta bordea prácticamente el casco histórico, ofreciendo unas vistas preciosas de las casas y los tejados, y todavía conserva muchas calles y callejones antiguos, estrechos y con mucho encanto. Quizás se deba a que es la zona que rodea inmediatamente el centro; me gustaría explorar también otras partes de Pescia, ya que realmente parece una localidad hermosa. En definitiva, fue un paseo muy agradable y, por suerte, ¡no hacía demasiado calor! Aunque, lamentablemente, hoy ha vuelto el calor y he tenido que encender el aire acondicionado.
